So I’ve already purchased two reverse light sockets and they look similar to the one posted here. They both seem to have a negative wire running from them.
I was aware they ground to the housing, but maybe it’s an extra ground wire for good measure? I’ve had issues with my original tail light housing wiggling and rattling loose
A extra ground wire is a good idea. Many of the lights on 5hese old cars fail because of a bad ground. I have a wire or two soldered to sockets to provide a good ground.
