I am selling a used original 1967 GTX, 1968-69 Cuda/Barracuda flip door gas cap. Mopar part # 2823339 I believe it could be adaptable to other A-bodies. It is used but I feel in nice driver condition, not perfect but great for the weekend local car show and cruises. Cap is in great shape, no damage and shiny chrome. Opens and closes with a snap as it should. No sloppiness in hinge, tight. I’ve had this cap for quite awhile for a car I no longer have.
I am asking $90.00 with buyer picking up shipping. I ship USPS Priority to lower 48 only, out of SoCal 92503. PM or E-mail me for details. I am open to offers contact me and we’ll kick it around. Thanks, Al

Jaws, when I googled some info for research. I inserted the Mopar part number and not only did it tell me that this one was for the A-body 68-69 Barracuda and might be installed on early 70’s A-bodies as well. But the 67 GTX was also mentioned so I threw that into the mix. If I’m wrong by giving out wrong information I didn’t mean that. It’s just what I read. Thanks, Al

Jaws, I googled this up from a Mopar parts distributor. I picked up a lot of my info to use as reference from the part number Mopar 2822339. This would get the part directly to who needs it and it’s application.

67 GTX did not have an exposed gas cap, it was behind the fuel door on the drivers side quarter panel.

Demonracer, Not to dispute your word. I did some more research to find where the gas access is located on a 67 GTX. So I decided to check the 66 Belvedere/Satellite gas door just to be certain. The pics I’ll post is the 66 Ply. and the 67 GTX which show the differences. The application for the GTX is for the cap I’m selling minus the trim ring that goes under it.
Thanks, Al

In your first picture, I believe the cap screws on like a normal gas cap. I didn't remember my 67 GTX having a flip cap. Then again, I have old timers disease, CRS. LOL

Thank you “Demonracer” for your reply to my Parts for sale posting. Normally when I sell a part that I myself am unsure of it’s application ( I’ve had more E-bodies ) than I’ve owned other Chrys cars. I’ll try to research the heck out of it before posting the information on it, just to match up the part with the proper hobbyist and his car. As for the asking price, the condition of the part has a lot to do with this. This cap does not include the trim ring but is really in clean working OE condition. I’m always open to a good counter offer.
As for the old timers disease I’ve been associated with that malady for awhile now (I’m 73). My wife will attest to the CRS symptom, LOL. Thanks, Al

I was curious also, so I took a look in the 67 parts book. Looks like it may have been an option? It says "hinge type". The decorative ring is # 2643998 and available on B bodies. Sorry for lousy pic...

4spdragtop, I did some additional research and it seems that there are other numbers concerning this cap. There seems to be part numbers that either replace or supersede the OE part number 2822339. I found one bit info on the B-body forum that mention the part number on this cap applying to the 1967 GTX, 1967-68 Charger and 1967-69 Cuda/Barracuda. Go figure, I can only go by the original factory part number for application. Thanks, Al
