I am replacing the rotors on my '70 Duster 340 (5x4). Pounded off the old studs and separated the hub from the rotor. Got new rotors & wheel studs (Dorman 610-130) and tried to pound the studs through. Got the studs almost all the way bottomed out on one assembly, but the other just will not bottom. It is like the end of the wheel stud will not penetrate the rotor. Had a local shop get the first assembly done, but the second just won't bottom.

Has anyone experienced this?

that most likely because the shop "PRESSED" them in.....I would not pound on them ...... that cast is still fragile..

When I did mine I used some washers and open ended lug nuts to pull the studs through. Maybe the stud is damaged causing it to not seat.

On the stud between the threads and the knurling is a shelf that is the same diameter as the area of knurling. That shelf fits on the rotor side of the hub but is too large to fit through the other side. I ended up grinding down that shelf just enough so it would go through without eradicating the knurling. Lot of work, but finally got success. I know I had the correct studs because the same part number was listed by four different parts dealers. Some dealers also showed Raybestos studs, and pictures of those looked identical to what I had, so must be the correct part. Oh well, what is an older car without a little work?!

Where did you get the rotors from looking for a set also thanks
