904 Torqueflight heavy duty selector shaft seal height?

That flat part of the kd shaft is supposed to be facing the driver side. It's facing forward in the pic. Remove clip; push down; turn counterclockwise 90 degrees; pull it back up and reinstall the clip. Make sure it's clocked right inside and moves the innards correctly. You'll be able to feel it; loose at first then pressing harder against a spring resistance as you push the arm back.

thank you, i did exactly as you said. i never knew there was a sweet spot for the kickdown shaft. It now has internal (spring-like) tension and everything mores smoothly. i installed everything back on the car and lowered it to the ground. so far so good. i see no leaks and its only been a day BUT i still have to start the car & warm it up but i cant at the moment because of a dead accelerator pump diaphragm from my holley 4bbl 6299-1 carburator, im waiting on Holley to ship out the replacement part.
