Ford Maverick

In 1970, I very nearly started out as a 302Comet-GT owner. But the 70Swinger 340, had waaay more balls and a comparatively generous rear seat, which to this 17 year old at the time, made sense.
Holy dejavu, in '85 I looked at a 64 Comet Caliente (before the 65/340 Barracuda I got) with a Hi-po 289 transplanted in it (it had that badge on the fender yet they never offered that motor in 64) but the deal breaker was the BEACH CHAIRS the guy bolted onto the rusted out floor! Talk about lightweight seats!!! They were literally the low type fold up aluminum beach chairs pipe strapped (? shaped brackets) to the PLYWOOD floor! We looked under and saw what was left of the metal floor and realized why he had wood in there. This car was ready to fold if we opened the doors, but I bet it kicked some *** with that motor and the 4sp. I still feel my 68 spec 340'd 65 would have been more HP.
