Good morning, as the title suggest im building a daily driver fun car, not factory perfect , just a clean fun car. Heres my questions...
1- can someone recommend a paint to use on the black out portion of the rear lens, brand and sheen...

2- console: what brand and sheen for the black sections. thanks, Rich

its a 73 Duster that im converting into a 70-71 .. the console is an early 67-68 type... im only interested in paint suggestions for the lower black portion of the console, rear lens are 70

Any plastic abs paint...or use adhesive promoter...same on console...lots of guys use SEM

i tried the SEM trim paint on the lens but it was too dull

I use the satin high temp from Autozone and like it.
Being the high temp it’s tough and has the finished texture and sheen that doesn’t look out of place.
Not that easy to see I guess, but a couple of examples.
The GTO guy was really happy with it as well.

Krylon fusion for plastics satin black

Hey guys, while i have your ear have you ever heard of anyone chrome wrapping the edges of the console plate and ash tray cover? I was thinking about bodyworking the pits out and making the top plates smooth and then bring them to a wrap place, trim back the chrome wrap and apply the wood grain decal from DMT...Your thoughts?

Interesting idea. I'd like to see that.

I’m going to look into it.. I don’t want to spend big bucks on a China repop console lid especially for a daily.. if they can’t do it I’ll spray it with some single stage urethane, it’s pretty tough paint, maybe a bright silver or something like that.

ESP47… yeah that’s good stuff, I dyed some interior parts with that stuff.. I wasn’t sure that would be glossy enough for the console so I ordered some semi-gloss SEM multi max paint for plastic and fiberglass, we will see soon enough
