Has anyone with American Collectors insurance on their classic Mopar ever had to file a claim? How were you treated during the claims process???

Thank you!

Does anyone have any experience with American Collectors insurance? The reason I ask is I'm considering switching from Hagerty. I got a recent quote for significantly less than what I currently pay for the same coverage through Hagerty. I'm just wondering if the claims process is as painless as Hagerty's seems to be, after reading so many great reviews about Hagerty.

Call Grundy Classic Car Insurance. They have pretty much the same coverage as Haggarty for much less. I dumped Haggarty years ago. I don't know how Haggarty is now, but back then they had a lot of restrictions. For example, stop at a store and your car gets stolen from the parking lot while in the store; not covered. Same with going into a restaurant. I was not allowed to drive my car to work; not even for fun on a nice spring day. I was pretty much covered for just cruising around, going to and from a car show and if the car was stolen from my garage. I called Grundy, and they said, "We want you to enjoy your car. You are covered for occasional drives to work and trips to a store or restaurant." Haggarty's coverage might be WAY better now. I'm just telling you why I dropped them for Grundy.

I did call Grundy and am not interested in them.

I have them and unfortunately had to file a claim.
They were great.
Sent an adjuster out to see my car at my house (and I live in the sticks), understood the situation about it's an old car, had access to restoration vendors and it was a breeze.
Asked me if I had a body shop I wanted to use or was I doing the work myself. They even paid me for using parts that I owned.
Told who I was taking the car to and no hassle about using a "preferred" shop.
Overall, I was super pleased about the whole experience.

I have them, never made a claim. When we had a heavy storm, they were going to pay to move my car to higher ground.

I just switched my two vehicles to them from Hagerty. I haven’t had any issues with Hagerty but I did save $150 for the year for the same coverage.

I have 4 cars insured by them. They called me too, to pay to move my cars away to safety (though I didn’t need to do that). I never made a claim yet though. I recommend them.

Thanks for the first-hand input guys. I ended up switching to American Collectors. I saved $80/yr over my Hagerty policy for the same coverage and equivalent conditions.
