One more time around on this brake stuff. I have the Eastwood Brake Tool and love it. What do I use for a pattern so I can remake the brake line from the L/F wheel to the Brake Warning Switch? A coat hanger is a good start but their must be something better. People talk about a welders rod of some sort. I am not familiar with this.

What do the MOPAR home garage mechanics use for a pattern before bending 3/16 in brake line with tube benders and use of the Eastwood Flaring Tool ??

Thx MOPAR guys and gals. I have a 1968 Dodge Dart 270 SL-6 almost ready for the road but now developed leaks because of poor brake flares (long story....don't ask).

Have a great day, stay safe, stay healthy.

Love MOPAR. Your recommendations please and past experience greatly appreciated.

Tig welding rod.
Coat hanger is free. Why buy something that you can get for free?
If you can take pics before you rip the old line out. That helps. mostly i use the old line as a pattern. For long unmanageable lines i cut and put in a union.

I use the old brake line or coat hanger. What's wrong with coat hanger? Too redneck? It works quite well.

Buy extra line because it may take several tries to make it. Remember there’s a difference in size between coat hanger and brake line. So your bends become larger.

Buy the Nickel/copper line! WAAYYYY easier to bend. I made/bent the KH crossover lines by hand.
I will never make them outta steel anymore.
