I did pull a main cap. It was grooved and had evidence of contamination. Plus the chrome looking flakes had me spooked. There was a bunch of gritty crap and metal shavings in the pan. Pure piece of mind I need to look at it and make sure. Worst case I strip it doiand it looks alright. New set of bearings and gaskets and off we go. Just a few weekends no biggie.
