Okay, here goes. I have a stock tach for my '72 W200. Works great except the case (housing) is busted up. I'm looking for a non working tach with a good case. Yeah, they are all over eBag for $350 but at least for now I refuse to pay that for just a case. Anybody got anything like that laying around? Thanks!

Pictures help.
Sorry. I just assumed (there's that word again) that if someone had one, they would know what it looked like. But...ask and ye shall receive. Now this is NOT my tach as on mine the face and the attachment to the shell is broken up, but this is what they look like. I believe they are all the same from '72 to '78.

A friend has a 77 and has a tach for it, but not yet installed. I don’t know if he would sell it, will ask him about it.

Checking to see if there’s any in the great pile of truck parts.

I have some but your problem is not just yours alone a bunch of tac’s have the same fault

Appreciate any and all help. If anyone has a broken one but has all the pieces I'd be willing to give it a go gluing glue it back together. It's just that mine is like a Christmas turkey, pieces missing.

Sorry mine are intact don’t know how many I have seen in pieces just not worth keeping.

I think you misunderstood me (or I wasn't as clear as I should have been), I would prefer one whole one. BUT, if all that was available were ones in pieces, that wouldn't automatically be a dealbreaker.

I have a perfect one in my 1972 Adventure 360 Pickup Race Truck.
The truck has be a NHRA Race truck for many years and only has 20,000
miles on it. It only goes to 5,000 and the truck runs 6,.800RPM
$250 and I will remove and ship it.

I'd sand a chamfer around the outside and re-paint pen chrome the ring.

I bet no one would be able to tell anything was different

That's the problem. I am not sure what it should look like but I'm guessing there is a metal ring that retains the glass and the mask that is crimped around the lip of the housing. That ring and the glass are MIA.

I am getting some great responses from this, I never expected such help.

I have taken John up on his offer so I have found my tach. Thanks to everyone who helped.
