Question on port matching

I never thought that my question about port matching would lead to a 9 page discussion. A while back I mentioned it when guy's have the cylinder heads milled 0.040" and more, how that would affect port matching and intake manifold bolts and if my memory is right the reply was it won't hurt anything. I don't believe that milling the heads 0.040" plus doesn't affect flow.
It does but a lot “Depends on the engine combo” as well as what your doing with it. I say this all the time. The things you do for one thing are a great thing but a horrible thing for another build even if ignitions same engine cid, cylinder head and cam. AKA What works here doesn’t work there.

So Darin says that the smaller peanut port increases the average air speed filling the cylinder and increasing the VE? Bam 30 foot pound increase in torque! Who would have thought? This is the port difference he's talking about right?

That's a big difference in size. **** that would destroy all that flow it was getting.......

Thanks Darin.

LMAO! And once again, application dependent. What works here is a disaster over there.
