Question on port matching

I never thought that my question about port matching would lead to a 9 page discussion. A while back I mentioned it when guy's have the cylinder heads milled 0.040" and more, how that would affect port matching and intake manifold bolts and if my memory is right the reply was it won't hurt anything. I don't believe that milling the heads 0.040" plus doesn't affect flow.

Dan you don’t k is what you don’t know. You can mill .040 off a head and not have an issue, and you can buy a new intake and have to mill it to get the ports to line up. That is vastly different than what you first asked.

Again, unless you are willing to put in the time to at least get a basic understanding of airflow, don’t pick up a grinder.
