Does anyone on this forum own an EV. Be honest!

I know that All Electric cars (EVs) get a lot of bad press on this forum, but like it or not, that is the direction we are heading. I also know that they are not as 'green' as some would like us to believe. In fact, some say that building an EV is dirtier than building a traditional car. And most likely, the electricity needed to charge it come from a coal or natural gas plant. Nevertheless, it may only be a matter of time before we won't have a lot of choice. Well, I'm 71, so I may never see that day, but it may be coming. All this being said, there is one EV that has sparked my interest; the new Hyundai IONIQ 5. Nice looking car with a range of 300 miles. I doubt I will buy one, but the idea does interest me. I plan to do a lot of research before even thinking seriously about it.

You are 100% correct . Couldnt have summed it up any better .
Electric will be the future for most cars but I imagine there will still be some gas specialty cars. And yes there will be environmental costs ...some are known already others will be reallized in hind sight.
Biggest driver will be cost . EVs have far fewer parts.... Second is fuel savings ... third is environmental.

Range has already been extended into the hundreds for some EVs but in reallity how many people travel more than 30 miles per day ? 60 ? 120 ?.... its a small percentage . And in 15 years most EVs will have 200+ mile range . EVs are also faster and handle better due to lower center of gravity and availabilty of torque vectoring AWD .
Our muscle cars will increase in value because they offer a viceral experience and nostalgic appearance .

I appreciate what EVs have to offer but my Barracuda is still my daily driver except on bad winter days then I use my 03 Ram . Though With gas prices going up I will be riding my BMW dual sport (65 mpg) most days I imagine.
