I know that All Electric cars (EVs) get a lot of bad press on this forum, but like it or not, that is the direction we are heading. I also know that they are not as 'green' as some would like us to believe. In fact, some say that building an EV is dirtier than building a traditional car. And most likely, the electricity needed to charge it come from a coal or natural gas plant. Nevertheless, it may only be a matter of time before we won't have a lot of choice. Well, I'm 71, so I may never see that day, but it may be coming. All this being said, there is one EV that has sparked my interest; the new Hyundai IONIQ 5. Nice looking car with a range of 300 miles. I doubt I will buy one, but the idea does interest me. I plan to do a lot of research before even thinking seriously about it.

Not yet. But I'm looking forward. It's my next vehicle purchase.

But what does EV mean?

Thank you. I'm Here all week.

But I am interested in the technology?

Yup. I liked the styling of the 5 too! A few Hyundais are getting that Duster slit taillight treatment. Sort of a breath of fresh air from the 2 square foot taillights of all the others out there or the goofy body styles. DISCLAIMER >> I own an electric bicycle 60V 19Ah battery pack, 2.5Hr range at 21 MPH. <<

NOPE. I am however FICUN PESSID that the situation in politics has driven the price of used vehicles THROUGH THE ROOF.

Without seeing what Dodge has to offer, the Polestar and the Lucid draw my fancy. The Mercedes EQ series looks cheap with the fake grill. Teslas policies are just a gimmick in my eye. The GM products are just plain ugly. Ford gets an E for effort, bit I'm still not impressed.

I dont own a EV and have zero intention of ever wanting one.
About the only good thing about turning 70 is hopefully I will never have to depend on one to get from point A to point B
Some day they will be sorted out and yes they will be the primary means of transportation in the future but until then im sticking with gasoline

None of this **** is sustainable, none of it has sufficient range to do "anything" especially after the batteries are 3-4 years old, and the allegation that they are in any way "green" is the greatest lie ever told.

Yes, as a matter of fact, I do own an ev, and as soon as I can afford it, I will be upgrading to...

This!

Hey Chrysler had EVs years ago, Goggle GEM cars GEM was owned by Chrysler and parts were sold by their dealerships.
I worked for Mopar when GEM was a thing.
You could never get parts for a GEM at a Chrysler dealer unless they had a GEM dealership as well.
Same for Freightliner Sprinters, Mercedes and Mitsubishi.

My robotic woman is Electric powered and I ride her all the time. Nice head lights and rear end. My electric bill has gone up though???

Google the movie "Who killed the Electric car" It's really good. I found it at the library. Lots of interesting insight.
