For twenty years (1980-2000) I lived in and renovated a house built in 1821 in Southwest Virginia. When we got to the kitchen there were 5 layers of old style sheet linoleum, with news papers between the layers to keep them from sticking together. I tore it up layer by layer reading and saving what I could. I was doing this at about the time all that mess was going on with the Contras in Nicaragua.
