Has anyone else noticed how Advance brake rotors wear out ? I will call it delaminating since I don’t know the correct term. I’m sure one of the big brains will correct me.
The machined surface on the rotor starts to flake off after 5 or 10 thousand miles. I know the easy answer is to quit buying their garbage, I have. Advance musta realized their stuff is junk too, they started selling Carquest parts instead. We had a local Carquest but Advance bought them out and changed names.
I now try to get everything at NAPA but their hours are limited.

I've gotten to the point where if I have "decent" rotors, I just have them turned- even though new ones are cheap. I have had a lot of problems with new ones warping, and have heard of your flaking issue, too. Garbage metallurgy, and I'm willing to bet most of the new ones, with a few exceptions and regardless of the name on the package, come out of the same offshore foundries. And it's not limited to our old Mopars, either.

When I worked for a dealer 80’s into the 90’s rotors were big bucks. So we turned them. Now they are way cheaper so we just replace. Sadly almost all the rotors in the $45-$125 range are junk including Napa rotors. They turn black and pop leaving rust divots and are complete garbage after 2 years. No quality control for sure and crap materials. I just replaced all 4 rotors and pads on one of my 2500 service trucks and had to use Napa because mother Mopar was on back order. With in a few days we had lots of noises and weird looking grooves are forming on the rotors even using Napa premium pads. The brake job parts were $215 per front rotor and $175 per rear rotor. Pad sets were $159 front and $139 rear. (Internal parking brakes were not replaced as they were good.)
Chrysler pads and rotors had they been available was like $10 more per item but very little brake dust on rims unlike the Napa pads my rims are covered with dust and I checked all my calipers for sticking- they are free.
A with ma Mopar and life is longer at 30k per change. Napa brakes are the better choice for local availability for me in Connecticut vs bobo brands but still junk no matter the cost.
