Hey guys, got a 360 with edelbrock heads RPM heads. I’m using 273 adjustable rockers for my solid cam/lifters. I’ve notice on my rockers I have quiet a bit of free play between my rockers arms and rocker shaft hold downs. I did use the hold downs to my non adjustable rocker shaft (all of them,) since I was short on the adjustables. Are adjustable and non adjustable rocker shaft hold downs the same width?
 
Ive never seen any issue with swapping between the two. If you want tighter clearances get the shims.
 
Yes they are the same.

On Crane adjustables they don't have spacers they have springs so there is constant pressure against the hold downs. You can shim yours to tighten them up if needed. I would shim them in a way to keep the pushrods centered on the valve. You can see in this picture of the big block the first rocker needs to be moved over to be centered.
