The late A-body upper ball joints are larger than the early version (9/16 stud, I think). I have late A-Body spindles also, so they should be bored for the larger ball joints. Since the stud is tapered, is it supposed to suck all the way into the spindle bore by just tightening the nut? When I set the stud into the bore without any pressure, it stops with about 11/16" still exposed.

Pic looks normal to me gotta have room for the dust boot and allows the taper to fit tight.
