I have a factory lightweight hood for a 73-76 Dart Sport, seems like it might fit a 69 barracuda also( not sure about the cuda ). It is in pretty good shape with only surface rust. Will be taking it to Carlisle next week if that would help anyone. $ 350 OBO Thanks

What is lightweight on those hoods...I'm familiar with the lightweight bumper brackets ...was hood alum??

The "shock absorber" bumper brackets were steel, but the bumper reinforcement between the brackets and actual bumper wee aluminum. HUGE weight difference.

As mentioned, hood skin is steel but the underside framework is aluminum and weighs about 12-15 lbs less than a regular, all steel hood. Hood requires later year A-body hinges (with corresponding "light" hood springs) to work on a '69 Barracuda because the hood-to-hinge bolt spacing is different than the earlier model A-body hinges.

I bought one of these for my 73 duster and the actual outer skin was all dented and in bad shape but I got it at a good price and was able to take a good hood and switch inner structures... The steal on steal was spotlighted together and I had to drill those out. But the steel and aluminum had some weird crimped pinch fits.. when I put the feather duster innerstructure in the regular duster outer skin I just used a few aluminum rivets...

Thanks I thought the outer skin was aluminum.
I couldn’t imagine the frame structure was made of the softer material.
