Cleaning Weatherstripping?

I was at the junkyard today and picked up some usable glass channel and window sweeps. What do you all use to clean and preserve the rubber? Just dawn dish soap and a detailing brush? Any good products out there?
 
Mostly grime. Pulled this off a Volare. This stuff is really hard to come by. It's all still soft and pliable. The car was a complete rot box but all that moisture probably helped keep the rubber intact. I want to maximize its life span. The stuff on my car now breaks like dry spaghetti
