Hey, I have bought some Vinyl top trim clips to attach the moldings. I have no clue how to attach them to the actual Trim piece since I did not have any on the car. The factory service manual is no help. Could somebody give me some guidance on how they are supposed to fit in the channel on the Trim?

there is a place in each trim piece that allows you to slide the clips into the trim. The long thin arm springs the clip into place so it doesn't fall out. the plastic bit seals the hole closed, but you might want to put a dab of sealer around the holes to help that. you don't say what car this is. The original hard top trim uses a different fastener in the two holes closest to the back side window but if you have everything out back there you can snake your hand up from inside the trunk, above the wheel well and get a nut on those clips - it's just a real pain in the patoot. I'm sure they did that at the factory to save time on the assembly line. You can't find those alternative factory pieces because nobody makes them. Only old salvage pieces available.
