Morning guys

The project for this year will be to iether reupholster or replace the front bench in my 71 duster

I might even attempt to reupholster it myself (have done some upholstery jobs in a previous life) but in that case I'd still want to find a different bench to slap in there while I work on it

So, what should I look for ?

Any 70 to 74 from a 2 door a body should fit. Not sure if 75/76 will or not because of the catalytic converter hump.

So one from a 67 barracuda would not be a direct fit ?

I have a high back split bench with arm rest and head rests. I don't know what year it is but it looks in the 70's. The bottom seat is fairly nice. The backs have torn covers. The headrests are pretty nice.

Any 2 door A-body bench, 67-76, will physically fit. The catalytic convertor bump affects the bucket seat mounts, not the bench seat mounts. And other than the catalytic convertor the floors are the same 67-76.

Obviously there are different style benches over that range, so some of those years would have styles that were not available for a '71, and of course the upholstery style would be different as well. If you got a style of bench that wasn't correct for '71 you may have a hard time matching the cover to the rest of the car, if you're buying the seat upholstery to be correct for a '71. But it sounds like this is just a temporary seat, so it wouldn't matter then.

Heck even a 4 door bench would physically fit, but it wouldn't have the folding provision so you'd lose access to the back seat.

Got any pictures of it ?

Maybe we can confirm what year it is

I'm not too worried about numbers matching, or even making sure the upholstery is period correct

What I have in there now has be redone once, in a questionable matter

Some sections are clearly painted while others are replaced with a very pretty, typical 70s orange fabric

Im thinking just about anything will be an improvement

yes. I actually have been wanting to post them just to find out what year it is. I have pictures on my wife's phone as I don't have a cell. I will get her to post them sometime this evening. It would make a nice core for someone who really needs one. This one is black vinyl and it has little medallions in the front of the top seat backs. I am clueless with upholstery newer than 1968.

It may serve me as I'm rebuilding mine, if the price is right (and it fits, of course)

I'd like to stay with white as the final color

Yes sir once you interior gurus figure out what it is we can go from there. The seat is of a great design with the split and armrest. The headrests are the 2 pole adjustable type. I have looked at images of a bodies and b bodies and could not match it up. It looks roadrunnerish but it's in a 67 a body.

Were you able to get those pictures ?
