Has anyone ever cleaned out a garage and NOT found a black widow spider?
Yep! And for the rattlers, make lots of noise and jostle stuff around as you go. That usually wakes them up so they'll start rattling, and then you know where to send your wife to start cleaning.I've found my share. You look before you reach.
The little green lizards have a field day with the spiders, but there are still more than they can control by themselves. Thankfully, no Black Widows or Brown Reclosers yet. Yes, I spelled it wrong....it's a lineman inside joke! I spray the spiders once it's warm enough for egg sacks to appear. Stinks like heck in the garage for a few days, but gets em gone. That's a beautiful orb weaver! Friend, not foe! I'll relocate them to a plant in the yard if they're somewhere I don't want them.Always. I am the last house on a dead end street with woods abutting my property so I see quite a bit. Here’s a picture of a huge spider (can’t remember what it is) that looks scary but I looked it up and it’s harmless

I was a trashman in the countrySprayed a widder a few years ago in the fenderwell. She dropped to the floor. Was walking by later and the ***** jumped onto my ankle. I was amazed.
I don't know what a widder is but I've been stung twice by wasps, both times in the ear. And both times I was just walking out in the open, minding my own business. They were flying and collided with me, decided "eff this guy" and stung me. I do not like wasps.Sprayed a widder a few years ago in the fenderwell. She dropped to the floor. Saying it out loud using my family's accent, it checks out!@Workingdog1 might not be from CA, lol. "Widder", as far as I know is an Appalachian American word that actually means Black Widow.![]()

Wasps are definitely the A-holes of the insect community, they sting and bite unprovoked for no apparent reason.I don't know what a widder is but I've been stung twice by wasps, both times in the ear.
