Hey guys and gals I have a major issue can anyone help ? I have a 360 bored and stroked to 408 I'm having a rock from front corner of the manifold to the opposite side rear with no gaskets on , the motor was not built by me I bought it that way I have had the manifold machined down because it was sitting too high on the heads I just verified the best I could the flatness of the manifold with 4 123 blocks on my glass top stove (only thing I have flat enough) and I get no rock there and this is just on the china wall part on the manifold ,should I take it to a machine shop to have it verified ? Or what could be another issue? I believe motor was decked that's why I had to have manifold machined, Leaving for work right now but when I get home I will set it up again and check angles with a protractor (just thought of this and I should have checked the angles ).
Thanks for any info !!!

The heads move around a little bit on the dowels. You might want to try pushing the heads towards the valley as you snug and tighten them up just before torquing them. The other thing could be they didn't machine the block correctly, or the intake is tapered from front to back. In any case if you put gaskets on it and it doesn't Rock and if you torque it down and it doesn't leak, I wouldn't worry too much about it

Found the issue and it was staring right at me I was showing my neighbor and he pointed out a casting bump on the area under the water port front left if your at the front of car and yes it was hitting the china wall totally obvious and didn't even notice it . I ground the casting bump down and low and behold its good now , I feel like such an idiot .
Thanks
