Was talking to my cousin last night and he said he'd trade me a LD340 with heads and everything it just needs rebuilt and bored for something of mine (don't know what yet) and he also said that he would trade me my built slant six for his V8 Kmember because hes wanting to build the slant alittle more and run that in his duster....So do you think i should do the swap and dump money into rebuilding the 340 and running it in my duster. or should i just keep my slant and not spend as much? I'm getting the 340 either way i'm just thinking i should drop it in my duster. what are your opinions??
 
id grab that 340 too, just for the fact that they arent exactly easy to find. and im sure it will be way more fun than a slant 6.
i need to get a slant 6 and run it in my car... i need to improve gas mileage... plus it will afford me time to rebuild my 318.

so if i do the 340 does anyone have a spare wiring harness? or is the wiring pretty much the same between slants and v8s?
 
Not to rock the boat here 8) , but if you are going to convert a /6 to a V8 why not just go all the way to a big block? :twisted: I'm not saying don't take the 340, but just tuck it away for a future project. :mrgreen:

get the 340 but keep the /six you can do some wild stuff with the six :thumrigh: and the looks on those mustangs boys faces is pricless after they find out they were beat by a /six :scratch: :silent:
 
I'm not going bigblock because A) don't have another bigblock and B) don't have money to buy a bigblock. so if you would donate me a bigblock and tranny i'd go bigblock :D..its either 340 or slant i have to get rid of the slant if i get the 340 because my cousin wants the slant back. (we swap and trade and trade back alot)

Gas is 'bout $9 in Germany and I allways drive 340! GO 340! :thumleft:
 
I'm not to worred about gas because its not going to be a daily driver. I think i'll drop the 340 in if everything works out. I just needed reassured.
 
340 is my choice, even over a 383 or 400. Then 440 just for the fun of it.
4 speed of course!
