Disc brakes from 79 cordoba on a 74 scamp??

-
alright guys unfortunatly that cordoba didn't work out but new question, a volare just came up for sale literally 2 minutes from my house that i think i could pick up pretty cheap, since my car is a 74 they should bolt right up correct?

Yes those spindles will work as long as disc

Make sure it's cheap enough.

ok thanks crackedback, i don't know a price on it yet but just looking at it he can't be asking much. It's half under a snow bank right now but the days are getting warmer so hopefully i can go take a closer peek at it. Thanks again man

Your existing upper A arms and lower control arms will work (73 up), the Volare spindles will work. The spindles will have / accommodate the 10.5 inch rotors (and caliper brackets). You will have to get grade 8 fine thread bolts and nuts to attach your A body lower ball joints to the spindles. The 73 up large A body upper ball joint will work perfectly.
I don't think Volares ever came with 11.75 inch rotors. Which caliper brackets does this Volare have? Clip or Pin? Just curious. Good luck on your sweet stopping power!

Wow Im confused...

Im looking into the same thing, it seems to be cheaper to buy a car and strip vs a swap. I have a 80 aspen found, what else do I need just the upper Arm from a 73+?

so guys just an update, i've bought the 78' volare and got it towed home last night. I got into it a little tonight and just wanted to confirm that i use both the lower control arms and upper a arms that were on my car an just take the spindles etc. off the volare. I expected that that would be how it worked, i just want to make sure. And BLWN1 yes it would seem that if you find the right car it is cheaper to part one out then to buy a kit. I was able to get this volare for $250 and my dad is friends with a scrap guy that says he'll for sure give me 300 for it so really, i'm making a little money doing it this way. thanks in advance for the help guys!!!

I just bought a 74/5 scamp for 300, so yeah I lucked out, running 225....

The Aspen spindles will work fine, you may also want to take the proportioning valve as well because you will need to change out the one on your car for a disc brake one as well as the master cylinder needs to be changed.

I see a lot of guys say that all the 73 up upper control arms have the big ball joint, this is not the case. They still used the small upper ball joint on the 73 9" brake cars, I've run into this a few time at the junk yards looking for upper control arms. From what I was told is the upper ball joint size was a mid year change but I don't know that for sure. Just make sure what you have before you start.

Also to those that are looking at using the larger rotors from the Cordoba's and cop cars, these will work fine and you can even use the caliper bracket to convert other spindles to the larger rotor, but you can NOT run 14" wheels with the larger rotors.

Go to Mopar Action.com/Disc O Tech. tells what fits who and why.
