I just topped up my tank to nearly full with a gas can, and I noticed I have sprung a leak from where the filler tube goes into the tank.

Anyone deal with this before? Any ideas on what to do? Do I need a new tank?

Thanks,

Shane

Yep. I agree. Siphon some of the gas out until you get a new seal. It should be readily available.

Is it easy to get the filler tube off?
3 or 4 screws behind the gas cap and it just wiggles out of the tank. Don't over fill the tank because the gas will slosh out of the cap when you drive and run down the quarter panel and eat the paint.

I just did mine. It's about $15.00 + shipping. Remove 4 screws holding filler tube to fender and slide tube into tank enough to clear inside of fender and remove. Change out grommet and reinstall filler tube. I used a little lube on the new grommet just for ease of install.
