Hi there, It's Ok, oil drain and refill with API GL4 are done. I am nearly ready to install my A833 into the Demon Nearly ready because I have a last interrogation : the starter. This morning I had a look on Rockauto and I saw that there are starters for M/T 4-speed and starters M/T 3-speed...

    Fuses issue

Thanks all for your advices It seems that slow fuses don't exist in my current fuses format (two flat blades fuses). I won't modify my circuit for now and will try to install two 25A fuses. I think that my circuit is enough secured and these two fuses do their job very well. Just have put...

    Fuses issue

Hi there, My Demon battery/alternator harness has been modified to secure it. Here is it : But today, when I turned the key, nothing happened : motionless needles, no oil/brake red light, no starter. The two 20A fuses which protect the system blew together. I replaced the fuses and everything...

Can you ID this Mopar gearbox?

Thank you for this precision. I didn't know. It seems that all modern oils are GL-4/5, or GL-5 only. I finally found this one, another german made gear oil, but GL-4 only. Not very expensive, I'll probably go for that one.

Can you ID this Mopar gearbox?

Hello guys Now it's time to drain and refill this A833. Of course, here, we don't have the same oils than in USA, but what do you recommend? I thought using a german 80W-90 multigrade oil, API GL-4/GL-5. FUCHS TITAN SUPERGEAR MC 80W90 Gear Oil (MB Spec 235.0, 1 Liter) François

New to Mopar with a 71 Valiant Chrger

Hi Hanzeth Oddly, your dash is a mix of the '67-69 Valiant dash (for the squared gauges) and '71-72 Dodge Demon (for the false wood). And your steering wheel is a '70 (only) deluxe one with horn ring. The horn ring has been abandoned by Chrysler for 1971. Here's the base (non rallye) '71...

    Clutch disc diameter?

I got some help from a friend here, and following his advice, I upgrade my clutch to 10" I wasn't sure that my bellhousing and flywheel would accept it, but this friend has a '71 Barracuda with the same 198ci than mine and he has a 10" OD clutch. I ordered this one from Rockauto : More...

    Clutch disc diameter?

Hello Dave "L" is for Dart, and "J" for Challenger. And it's not an Europe made car. It has been assembled in Hamtramck, Michigan. I also think that the 9 1/4" will fit... I saw that Rockauto has this kind of disc for sale. Thanks all. François

    Clutch disc diameter?

Yes, it's logical :). But an optional 9 1/2" disc is mentioned in the FSM for the 198ci. So, I suppose that it's impossible to determine the disc diameter without removing the transmission...

Hi guys I would like to order a new clutch disc and I would like to know its diameter before removing the gearbox. FSM tells 9 1/4 (standard) and 9 1/2 (optional) disc diameter for slant-6 and A230 transmission. How can I know the correct one for my transmission? :thankyou:

To build a model of my Demon, I will mix two kits : The 71 Duster And the 71 Demon The Demon for the upper body and the round chrome mirrors (the Duster has Rallye mirrors). The Duster for the interior and the underneath (really better made and more realistic) and for the standard steering...

Yes, I did. The classical model kit glue doesn't work on this plastic. It's better working with cyanolit. I will repaint the transmission with a lighter metallic grey.

    What the date code is?

According to the Chrysler chart, 2998945 is a radiator part number for 1970 Dart/Valiant, 22", 318 w/o AC or 340 w/ AC. As said above, 18398 is probably the manufacturer code. In 1971, this code is 20446. At least, it’s the code of my 71 radiator.

    [WANTED] Slant 6 carburetor

Why not going for a remanufactured carb? Rockauto sells the Autoline C6018 carb which is a remanufactured Carter Ball&Ball (which is well better than the Holley 1920) I have one of these Autoline carbs on my Demon and the car works like a charm.
