No, thats an amazing improvement from a head swap, at that performance point! 50 hp maybe. 75 maybe too. Edit: Wallace says a 500hp/3000lb/7.07 goes to 600hp/3000lbs/6.65. If you got that JUST from a head swap... those speedmasters must have been garbage!

Easiest way to determine hood clearance: a big ball of tinfoil (or, a couple) sitting on top of the aircleaner. Close the hood. Another stupid question. Do you HAVE to run a hood?

Again, not great with the small block, but... port size on a 273/318 intake will have quite a bit less height than a 340/360 port. A 360 intake gasket will tell you which iron 2bbl you have.

I am NOT a small block maven, but..... have you considered the street dominator.? A low rise single plane, it's supposed to make great power and good torque. Also, could you mill some height off the weiand carb pad, and use a thinner carb adapter? Is an A/C required?

No pics, sorry, but Tire Size.com recommends 235/60x15 for a 6.5"up rim. They recommend a 7-9"rim for a 245/255-60x15. Personally....... if the 245s will fit under the car, on the wheels I've got, and that's what I wanna run, a half inch narrow rim is not gonna bother me.
