I am using 98 here in OZ, we leaned it down twice on the dyno and picked up around 30 HP but it was still in the high 11's on the AFR reading,...
It's just that the dyno guys like to pull them up through top gear, max load.
What sort of air /fuel ratios are you guys looking for in top gear with a N/A combo?
I run a bullet hyd / roller they told me to run little or NO preload , it was a little noisy so now I run around a third of a turn,
So, anyone got any thoughts on what a garden variety 4779 / 750 might flow with and without the choke tower?,...thanks
Hi, does anyone know what the height difference is between the Victor and the LD340?
The TQ is not going to bolt onto an airgap.
Every 340 pump I have ever dealt with appeared identical to every other stock SB pump, they may have raised the pressure a little though.
It needs to be remembered that the 340 came with moly rings from the factory, and the 340's never seemed to have the bore wear that the 360's did.
Sealed power single moly or Speed pro single moly plasma, either is a good choice. Be aware a different bore finish is required for moly rings...
This is a pretty interesting subject, does anyone have any knowledge on how much, if any oil gets to flow out of and past the front cam bearing,...
I run a home fabbed arrangement similar to your pix, air is picked up through 2 holes at the radiator support panel, it's good for 2 tenths and...
That's about what I've found as well, really easy to break a corner off your carb ! Only ever use bakerlite like spacers now.
Here's a few mods I did to my factory tray, hard to know if it was a benefit, stock stroke 360 turning to 6800.[ATTACH][ATTACH][ATTACH]
Forged steel or cast iron.
That is a steel crank ALL day, check the wide parting line, and the drilled front and probably rear rod journal, it looks to be an early factory...
The 'Crane' hyd / rollers used to be a billet core with a cast gear pressed on for small blocks, won't work for big blocks though.
Thanks for that info, it's just a bare block and the only ID I can find on it is '18970' stamped on the front of it.
Thanks for the replies, anyone have any thoughts on the weird +.025" bore size ? Is that a marine thing ?
Hi, I have got a 360 bare block that I'm starting to think is or was a reverse rotation marine one, the bore size is +.025", that is weird enough,...
The guy may have been confused by the T/A 340 head which is a 915 casting [J O U or Z]with the pushrod holes drilled differently.
I run studs with my Eddies, plenty of oil, no problems.
Right, just needed a couple of weeks more thought, Love the Cloyes stuff, just freshened my engine after 10 years of pretty hard use, and reused...
So what's the deal with the cam sprocket balanced up like that ?
Here's mine just a few mods, a couple of sets of extra louvres, this is on a stock stroke 360. Rather than being passive like the stock ones in...
It can be done but with late 340 8:1 pistons not the 10.5 ones but these days it's cheaper to buy the right [much lighter] piston.
Those stepped galleries are a trap, I'd been building SB Mopars for years before I realised they needed dealing with, you can't even feel them...
Make sure you have the correct shafts with the oil grooves cut into them [banana shafts] they will fit on normal hydraulic rocker shafts but...
OK, thanks.
OK, can you get a postage price, super budget option would be good, our dollar is terrible at the moment, thanks.
