Got it drug back home, now to finish getting the last bit of engine stuff for it.

First time in 30+ years it hasn't had a lift off hood, also had to see the color in the sunlight.

I'm the same way but I wanted to just start with the bay so I can get the drivetrain and whatnot back in. Then once it's running/driving I can worry about the outside of it.

Last round of sanding is done, looking like paint Wednesday.

Got all the final body work (upper corners of cowl were bashed in for the hood pins) and last coat of primer laid on it today.

I had the one from harbor freight for 5 or 6 years before 60mph winds took it out. Never let snow sit on it in the winter time so that might've helped things. https://www.harborfreight.com/10-ft-x-17-ft-portable-car-canopy-62860.html

Got most of it in primer now.

Got most of the filler on and blocked then the first coat of primer down. Passenger side turned out a little better in my eyes but nothing more blocking won't fix.

Didn't have as much time for it today but got the first coat of filler down and sanded.

It was covered in spray paint and you cannot spray anything over it (it’ll cause a reaction in my experience). If it’s original paint you can get by with just sanding it. Thanks!

Now I can move on to filler work and primer, glad that is over with

Buy one, do a dyno pull then swap intake/carb and do another. There is your answer, not like you'll ever buy a car nor an engine.

Now we're down to the stuff that doesn't progress as fast in photos lol, got a lot of it ground down today.

Stopping point for the day, everything is ready to be ground down tomorrow.

Got the pass side all welded up today and picked up a hood for it.

Got the cover plates off the firewall and started sanding, the F8 under them was still nice and shiny haha. Probably been on it since the '70s.

Got it dropped off so I can start on it next week.

Got it loaded up to take over to a buddy's shop so I can do the engine bay body work and paint. I'll do the rest of it later on after the car is going.

It's long since been repaired.

I've got the old version of harbor freights 12,000lb winch and it does great, it's pulled anything from trucks to an 8n ford tractor.
