Went through the carbs today and changed a few jets and the float levels. I have been looking at the Weber books and I want to see if these changes will show up in E.T. Also I had not been adjusting the fuel pressure like I should. It seems that the pressure moves around from week to week and I...

We had friends visit us for the Eclipse and they were from Myrtle Beach. They moved down from MD a few years ago. They talked about the changes. Of course living near Dallas is no walk in the park. Take care.

Your not a hack! The Webers have stud mounts on the bottom that can be used to support the carbs. I just got some 10 MM bolts, cut some spacers and mounted the plate. Won't make a difference in a Drag Car, but I don't think it will hurt. And if I drop a jet or screw it should hit the plate and...

    Slant 6 stroker?

There were lots of stories in the old days about a Truck 240 Cu Inch slant. Here is a blurb from a 1969 Hot Rod Engine Swap book. A 240 would be a .110 overbore with a stock 4.125 stroke. I have never seen any Mopar documentation of this engine. Lots of the slant racers are doing that much...

Don't get me wrong, I love them. But they are a PITA to tune and understand how they do what they do. In the future I will post what I am looking at with them right now. But they look Italian Sexy!

So I drilled and installed a short roll pin. It goes through the steel and a portion of the bushing. It should keep them both happy. Pedal turns like butter now, didn't do that before. I have a couple of spacers for the rod end bearing that should allow everything to be snug. Then the slop...

    1972 Dodge Colt

I spite of my best efforts the insert hot a little hot and changed shape. So after I worked on it for hours I got it back together and it turns on the shaft nice. However now the pedal now can move right or left on the insert. SO I am in a thinking mode to get a good solution to an unexpected...

    1972 Dodge Colt

My Lincoln Helmet is giving me trouble. An Auto Darkening Helmet doesn't work consistently, that is not good. But I just used the fuse function and melted it together. I didn't want to feed in any filler because I would just have to grind it off. Not exactly stacking dimes but it will work. Now...

    1972 Dodge Colt

I have been working thru regular maintenance for a couple weeks off and on. Head torque, valve adjust, oil change, etc. I removed the clutch pedal to fix the slop in the master cylinder rod. I threaded the hole, put in a bolt and cut it flush. I will weld one side to keep it from turning. Then...

    Steve Magnante’s Old Valiant

Steve's 62 Valiant was for sale on a Facebook page a month ago. It was around $30K. It was a 2 door, I missed when he went from a 4 door to the 2 door.

True dat. I have been slowly increasing air pressure to get a little spin. I started at 14, Sunday I was at 18. The tire patch looks to be around 11 inches now. I spent some time on the phone today with Six Gun Scott. We talked about clutch combinations and other stuff to make it launch. He has...

    1972 Dodge Colt

No, around 10.5 to 10.75. I should have cut the head a few more thousands, but it's at .100 now so I thought was enough right now. When that other head was leaking water, I was pretty disappointed and wanted something I knew to be ok. I am going to get that other head going with a better set of...

    1972 Dodge Colt

@RustyRatRod It does doesn't it! It really started doing what I "thought" the "old" engine should have been doing. I have a good ring seal now, more compression, better head, more cam, etc. It feels good to get this 60 year old piece of cast iron starting to sing. Or at least, clear her throat!

@64plymouth Good to hear some back story. It is owned by Curtis Wells now, he lives in Cleburne TX and does quite well with it. It would have been cool to put them on the track at the same time!
