    Tr6060 behind a small block?

If you don't plan to keep the LA, seems like a bunch of work for a temporary solution. If you plan to do a G3 swap with a TR6060, I would do them both at the same time. That said, a T56 Magnum could be swapped now with the LA and the only part that would have to change later would be the...

    18" Subaru WRX Wheels?

Subaru wheels are 114.3, exactly 4.5. Backspace is the only way to put a wide tire on the front of an A-Body and keep the tire under the fender. But it also means 17" wheels at a minimum, too. Not sure what the typical offset is on a Subaru, but it might not be any more than a late model RWD...

    Tr6060 behind a small block?

Based on this mockup picture from my idler issue thread, I don't think an oil filter will fit. Not sure a remote filter would either, but maybe with 90 degree fittings?

    Tr6060 behind a small block?

Even though the PS starter won't crash with the idler for you, I wonder if it will crash with the oil filter. I know the GC had a PS starter and oil filter, but sure feels like it could be a big issue.

    Tr6060 behind a small block?

If you do bolt it up with a SB flywheel, don't forget to look at the starter. Looks like the Challenger flywheel is 131T, so the bellhousing might not put the start in the right location.

    Tr6060 behind a small block?

Found it. "Old-school LA-engine automatic transmissions and manual-trans bellhousings bolt up (just leave out the top bolt), but there's a slight misalignment because the LA crank's "stick-out" relative to the rear block bellhousing face is about 0.090-inch longer compared to the Gen III Hemi...

    Tr6060 behind a small block?

Here is the thread I was thinking of. A tranny story (t56) After reading through it again, unless you can get the TR6060 for cheap or you can figure out how to make the clutch work, feels like a non-starter. In the end it was just as much to buy a T56 Magnum new as to buy a used TR6060 and...

Impressive! Very cool, I like your design. Are you going to market it? Not something I can use, just curious.

    Tr6060 behind a small block?

First thing I would look at is the crank offset. I know it has been talked about and that they are different, but I don't remember which one goes which way. Based on the picture of the G3 flywheel, I would have serious doubt that you can get the factory dual disk clutch to bolt on. But I have...

It's got the wheels turning for me now. Don't really have an application, but curious what it takes now.

    Tr6060 behind a small block?

Only one I know of has a thread on here and swapped the front plate, tail housing and main shaft so he could use an LS (I think) bellhousing. Not really what you are asking. The PS starter will cause issues, idler hits the starter hard. There is a fix, but it isn’t off the shelf. I have a...

Rear axle ratios the same? 3.91 was available in 1970 while 3.55 was the highest available ratio in 1974. And it looks like the standard ratio for 1970 was 3.23 while in 1974 it was 2.94. I think the 240# weight difference is enough for what you describe to make sense, just curious if there...

    Found a weight for a 1970 Swinger 340 - 3170#. https://www.hamtramck-historical.com/images/dealerships/DealershipDataBook/1970/70_Dart0028.jpg 105# lighter than a 1970 Duster 340 or 225# lighter than a 1974 Duster 360 and 240# lighter than a 1974 Dart Sport 360.

    1973 360

Very well could be. The AMA specs list the curb weight for a 1974 Scamp with a 318 at 3190#. That's 205# lighter than the '74 Duster 360. Now, the Duster came with HD suspension (+20?) so maybe 180# more? Add the 120# difference based on MY and you are at potentially a 300# difference...

    I see 2930# for a 1970 /6 Duster compared to 3055# for a 1974 /6 Duster, a difference of 125#. Virtually the same difference between a 1970 Duster 340 and a 1974 Duster 360 at 120#. Before all the nitty-gritty of 4spd v automatic, undcoating (+30 lb!!) or powersteering, etc. I would have...

They didn't weigh as much as a new Challenger. The '74 with a shock mount bumper was certainly heavier than a '72, but not by that much. The only other thing I can think of that added weight were door bars. Maybe 100#, at most? And the later '74 Duster 360's didn't even have the shock mount...

No argument. Plus the different RPM peaks makes me thing something is going on, as I mentioned. Could be they rated it after the peak when it was dropping so the '71 340 in effect made 275@5000 but 285@4800 (the same peak as the later low comp motors). So maybe the net rating at 5000 is 5 hp...

Really just interested in what radiator hoses you used. I only asked about the radiator to see if it was a match. It look similar and his Cold Case has the inlet and outlet on the passenger side as well.
