    AVS2 650 Secondary Bog

In the old days with the orginal AVS, if you had a bog, we would tighten up the Air valve spring, say, from 1 3/4 turns to 2 1/2 turns. I know nothing about the 2 AVS, if it has the same spring on the air valve, have you tried tightening it up? Too much air too fast. ????

    Oil additives

Mobile One, Dodge dealerships synthetic, do not know brand and GM brand, Dextrose synthetic. Chrysler Tigershark engine had a piston ring issue, and their qualifications for excessive oil usage and mine was quite different. I really liked the car and fuel mileage, not the oil consumption...

    Oil additives

Tried 3 different synthetic oils. All I know is it seemed to cure my oil consumption problem. FR3 is not a viscosity changer like STP. It's actually thin, as far as flow. That's all I have.

    Oil additives

Well, your guy completely (almost) blew by the FR3 by Hot Shots, he mentioned it and kinda bulged his eyes or something. My Chrysler 200 used oil from the time it was new. Probably had to add oil 4 or 5 times to a 5000 mi oil change . Fresh oil change, I added the FR3 when it got time for...

    There you go.

    69 Bucket seat question

No, it can face the outside, the taper is just wrong for tilt of the seat. I just don't know which way is correct. Depends on the floor pan. I can't check this at this time.

    69 Bucket seat question

Okay, my drivers seat releases to the rear, passenger release is forward. Again, mine are reproduction tracks and my be different. In this picture, I believe the taller taper in the track is forward on the inside track, that would match the outside track. I have not had these seats in...

    69 Bucket seat question

The tracks are tapered on the inside. The release arms on the driver's side face forward. On the passenger side, to the rear. The wire adjustment strap on the passenger side is longer to make up the lever reversal. On my repros, I used a tyrap to make up the difference. Factory...

    Wiring identification preference?

That conversion would change things for the alt, voltage regulator dist and ballast resister. Unless he has already done some of that.

    Wiring identification preference?

KISS. Keep it simple stupid. This isn't an airplane where all of the wiring is the same color, then needs to be labeled. Arguing will ensue, buy factory replacement harnesses, why would you want to patch up 50 year old plus harnesses if you are worrying about fires? New wiring will end up...

    2.76 vs 2.94 gearing

This is not that complicated, just do the 2:76. May have to change your speedo gear. OP says he has a problem with his current rear end , he's going to change it. I have 2:76's in my Dart, it's a driver, not a hot rod, it will get around just fine.

New Mancini Timing Cover Fitment Issue

The old cover has an internal seal. The new cover? Seems like I saw this the other day, internal seal, external seal. I can quite imagine that the timing cover is difficult to get on with the pan still on. The oil pan goes on hard with the timing cover in place. Plus, the harmonic...

    Blown 440 spark plug gap

I ran an Accel dual point and Super coil on my blown Rat motor 475 cu in, 21% overdrive on an 871 blower. I never gapped my plugs special, .032 or .035 as I remember. This was in a pickel fork jet boat. Ran and beat the hell out of it on the Mississippi River every weekend. I will...

8 3/4 spitting gear oil out of breather vent

I probably pitched it. I had the same problem as the OP. Got mad and tore it apart, oh, it wasn't an orginal, it was a replacement. Got the cap off and there was a very light spring with a rubber washer in there. I agree about not wanting pressure, it's a vent. I have a new vent from...

    Thermostat Gasket

I tried tightening it down from light to too much, didn't matter. Sanded housing flat, filed the intake, never had these issues that I remember from working at a garage for awhile in the late 60's, early 70's. The o-ringed housing is the fix, I have never had to mess with the damn thing...

8 3/4 spitting gear oil out of breather vent

Yes, mine leaked with the new aftermarket vent tube. I thought that maybe something was sticking and building up pressure, I was having trouble with the pinion seal at the same time. I made up a pigs tail brake line tube , it works, just haven't gotten around to playing with it again...
