[WANTED] 904 to 8 3/4 drive shaft

Rear is not in the car yet. I guess I assumed any 904 to 8 3/4 would be all be the same but thinking about it, realize a 904 to an 8 3/4 was probably not a normal factory thing. As soon as I get it hung, I'll measure. Tail of trans to centerline u joint on rear end?

    U Joint / Yoke question

Sorry it took so long to respond. Been busy and just got the car on the lift to get proper pictures, but yes, that is what it looks like is on mine. Will I not be able to use this for the 8 3/4? Pictures for reference... https://dougritchie.smugmug.com/Dart/i-n5NWXb6/A]...

    U Joint / Yoke question

Hi all, I'm going to be putting an 8 3/4 in my Dart. The center chunk was out of a '67 Coronet, and it's going onto a Dart that had a 7 1/4 with a 273 and an auto trans. Anyone know which u joint will work for this set up? Obviously going to need to shorten the driveshaft as well, but curious...

    273 torque converter

Okay, last question on this, I promise. I have that annular ring and am getting ready to do the swap. On that ring, do I put it on the nose of the converter and then install the engine, and do I need to grease it or anything? Thanks!

    Proper coil

I'm going to be installing the 360 in my Dart this month. I am using the mopar electronic distributor with the orange box. I have the proper ballast resistor, but what ohm coil should I use with this set up? Any particular coils that you like better than others? I the Pertronix Flamethrower...

    Random AC question

As a follow up question, I see that Walmart carries the Envirosafe cans. How much will I need to refill the system, and can I do this myself?

    Random AC question

Very cool info. I didn't realize we had moved on from R134. Does using Duracool or Envirosafe require line changes? My originals are in really nice shape.

    Random AC question

I used EQ heads and they look like the bolt holes on them are the same, but I guess I'll have to take a closer look.

    273 torque converter

I don't have the original plate, but a conversation with Mancini this morning confirms that AA241 (aka 10241) is the plate for Magnum to 904. At least according to them.

    Random AC question

Thanks for the replies. Rest assured, I didn't mean to make it sound like I was going to vent R12 into the air. I'm going to have it evacuated. I was curious as to whether or not, I needed to be careful with the lines being opened after with relation to humidity, dirt etc. Sounds like the best...

    Random AC question

Okay. So I'm getting ready to put the Magnum I built for my 67 Dart with air conditioning. I have never done a motor on a car with air before, so I have a couple of questions. Is it safe to just disconnect the lines on the A/C ? Will it damage anything not having freon in the system while I'm...

    273 torque converter

Interesting. I'll have to call them again. When I ordered it, I specifically asked if this was the one for the Magnum and 904 and they said it was. I'll call them again and find out. Thanks for the heads up. I didn't question it because it referenced the B&M number.

    273 torque converter

Thanks all! I have the correct harmonic balancer and the correct B&M flexplate. I also purchased the bushing for the nose of the converter, so if it's a neutral balanced converter, I guess I'm good to go. The Magnum I built is to the Mild Magnum build which should be around 410 hp and around 450...

    273 torque converter

If I understand correctly, the 273 is an internally balanced engine. Am I correct to assume then, that the stock torque converter is unweighted? I ask because I'm going to be installing a 360 magnum into the car that has the weighted harmonic balancer and flex plate. Do I need to pull the...

    TQ opinions/question

Here's my issue. I've built a 360 Magnum like the mild magnum build here on this site. I'll be starting the install of it in the next few weeks. My car is a 67 Dart with its original 904 with 18 spline and its original 273. Performance torque converters for this are either non existent or...

    1967 Dodge Dart 270

That air cleaner also has a drop base to give me clearance in case the Speedmaster knock off air gap intake is too high. I also was able to get the correct B&M.

    1967 Dodge Dart 270

Very cool. I went the same route with my 67. After doing the math and considering hopping up the 273, decided it was more fiscally prudent to just build a Magnum and get the hp I wanted. https://dougritchie.smugmug.com/Dart/i-RpFzMwH/A]
