    Sorry!!! Ford question

Yeah, you're right, nothing is easy. I remembered this from helping my brother as he is a Ford fanatic. A lot of the 8 and 9 inch ford rear ends are shared across the car and truck platforms so check fittings for the Ford Bronco as well.

    Sorry!!! Ford question

Hey barbee6043, I'm thinking the Ford F-150 pickup uses the same vent tube fitting. See here for details. Cheers! https://www.lmctruck.com/1973-79-ford/drivetrain/fc-1973-79-rear-axle-breather-vent EDIT : Just re-read your post and I now see what you are trying to do. I would see if...

    Help with Electrical Gremlin

Here's what I would do in this situation. Start the car and wait until it dies. 1. Pull an ignition wire off a spark plug and have someone turn the engine over while holding the boot close to a metal surface on the engine. If the ignition is working , you should see a spark at the boot...

Here's a great article from Holly on headers. https://www.holley.com/blog/post/long_tube_vs_short_tube_headers_which_is_right_for_you_/#:~:text=The%20rule%20of%20thumb%20is,produce%20better%20top%2Dend%20horsepower.

    1969 Plymouth Barracuda 340 Manifolds

Well... I chose shorties for a different reason. Ground clearance with a 4-speed. The driver side pipes with the long tubes just hung too low for me and didn't give me the look I wanted. No argument that there is a performance trade-off by not using long tubes but I don't think its a lot. My car...

Agreed! This has all the symptoms of bad connections, especially grounds.

    Carpet installation

If I remember correctly, the gas pedal assembly has a mounting pad that bolts directly to the floor with a gasket between the bracket and the floor. Carpet goes over the bracket.

Doug's headers not fitting - frustration

Good luck with it bud.. No way should you have to beat on them like that to fit. Me, I'd make one last call to Dougs, then , if no recourse, I'd take pics and post them on here and send them back to Dougs with pics showing them how bad they fit on this site. Then see how Dougs reacts...

Doug's headers not fitting - frustration

Man you are having a tough time with this one! I think if the headers were a problem, you may have to dimple them a little but, no way should you have to mangle them to fit. I f you do, they are junk. I don't know if I've asked this before but are you sure you have the correct headers for your...

Doug's headers not fitting - frustration

Damm! this is a tough one! Ok , lets see what may be able to be moved to gain clearance 1. The steering column bolts going into the firewall to allow movement of the column 2. The bolts holding the power steering box 3. The motor mount brackets 4. transmission mount 5 transmission cross...

Doug's headers not fitting - frustration

Yeah , I think you are right. Towards pass side would be ideal. No chance you have another set of engine mounts is there? Even if you could borrow a set to try. Something strange up here for sure.

Looking at this pic, The engine has to go down or back to clear the header tube.

This is just a shot in the dark but are the motor mount brackets in the right place on the engine block?

Doug's headers not fitting - frustration

You know Bob, this could be a combination of all these adjustments needing to be done. As I'm sure you know, they all add up, an 1/8th here, a 1/16th there etc ...

Doug's headers not fitting - frustration

Great attitude! I am following along and it definitely seems the engine is not aligned properly in the engine bay. I don't think its the headers so I wouldn't bend them up yet. Here's something else to check I was thinking that maybe the transmission mount is bad or the crossmember is dropped...
