Went to a car show today.

With the exception of the rear window louvres, it isn't bad at all. I like the color combo.

Seriously though, she obviously works very hard to look that good. Good for her.

    Overheating on run stand

Damn, I hate it when I am wrong. I misread the initial post. I thought Steve was saying that it ran OK the first time but overheated the second time with the thermostat. I was basing all my thoughts along that line.

Rotor for my SSBC A1531 conversion

That is the kit I put on my 69 Barracuda. I was getting a squealing noise that I thought was coming from the front (it wound up being a bad front U joint). I called SSBC and they told me that the rotors, bearings and calipers were 67-68 Mustang.

Best Electronic Ignition Setup for a 273

I don't know about 273s, but I can tell you that I put a complete MSD system in my 69 340 (mechanical advance distributor, coil, plug wires and ignition box). It was a huge improvement. The car starts, idles and runs better than before the swap. It was an excellent investment.

    Overheating on run stand

So no thermostat yielded no overheat and adding a 180 degree thermostat yielded overheating. That kind of points towards a faulty thermostat. I would recommend doing a few things. 1. Take out the thermostat. 2. Test the thermostat in a pan of water. It should "start" to open at 180 degrees. 3...

Did that have anything to do with the Clean Burn stuff I have heard so much about?

    cleaning up after mouse infestation

ABSOLUTELY. That is GOOD advice. I have seen many car shows on TV where they clean out mouse mess without masks or gloves. That is not very smart.

    Oil additives

Just because something is on YouTube, that doesn't mean it is true. I don't use oil additives, but I certainly would not let one internet video convince me that they were bad.

    Hood clearance Question

I think I agree with @GTX JOHN when he says the spacer may not be needed. I have a 69 Barracuda with a 340 built to about 375 HP. It has an Air Gap and an Eddy carb, and I don't have any fuel boiling problems.

    Torque plates

Honing blocks at 'operating' temps makes SO much sense to me.

New carb finally arrived, with pic

    Well, I’m committed now!

Amen to using a long board (sanding block). I probably spend at least 100-200 hours block sanding filler and then high build primer on each and every paint job. I block filler lightly with 120, then 220. Then I spray 3 coats of Evercoat G2 (that's all I use). Then I apply black guide coat and...

Unfortunately no. They were very minor. Most people did not see them, but I knew they were there.

    Well, I’m committed now!

When I painted my car about nine years ago, there was a problem in the paint booth. I was using a new paint booth for the first time, and a panel partially popped out and allowed a bunch of dirt and crap to get on the hood. Fortunately, it only got on the hood. So about a month later, I sanded...

Pls recommend source for full AC system for non-AC 1971 5.2 L Duster

I have a Classic Auto Air Exact Fit setup in my 69 Barracuda. It works great. I put it in myself about 15 years ago.

    NOT LEGENDARY BUT..................

I agree with @Icetech. Do it yourself. I have done several pairs of bucket seats and some back seats. It is pretty easy.

Thinking of switching from M1 single plane to LD340 but LD340 would need to be milled to fit. Is it worth it?

I'd sell the LD340 and put an Air Gap on it. I LOVE my Air Gap.

[SOLD] 1969 1970 Dart Solid State Thumbwheel radio with Plastic Radio Bezel

I know I am not supposed to 'converse' in For Sale threads, but I just want to help. If I were you, @Cubzy, I would test the radio. It should be really easy. I personally would not buy a radio without knowing if it worked for more than a few dollars. If it works, it should sell easily for a...

New Mancini Timing Cover Fitment Issue

Assuming the 1832 is 183.2mm and the 2153 is 215.3mm, that would be 7.21" and 8.48" respectively. That is a 1.27" difference on just that one measurement. I would get a refund from Mancini and buy a good used one.

    Finally!

Be SUPER careful during the assembly. Use lots of tape, towels, etc. to protect the paint.
