    Enlarging PRP doesn't always help

Depending in what you’re working on, without a proper form on the SSR……you could still be leaving a bunch of flow on the table. With many stock heads(and some aftermarket heads too), when fitted with oversized valves and the bowls enlarged accordingly………the overall SSR form actually gets worse.

    Nicks Garage 383 build

We’ll have to see how it all unfolds, but here’s my take on their quest for 425tq…….. Basically I’m wondering……..just how bad would the current 906’s have to be, that by doing a “better” valve job…….and nothing else……..there will be a 40+ gain in TQ? I’m highly skeptical of that happening. I...

    Tapper to roller cam conversion

This gear was installed when I built my motor in 2019. 10 or 12 dyno pulls, 5 summers of hard running. Changed it over the winter and looks like it didn't need changed. No "knife edge" wear. Nothing but normal wear. I think it could have gone at least 3 more summers. Also, I do not baby the...

Thx Alan, so I'm clear when you refer to he "starter relay" are you referring to the starter itself or the relay post that is up by the battery?

With the factory shifter and linkage, the only option is washers. Bushing are used on the aftermarket shifters.

    A few 2-Step questions

I really like this idea more than any of the others. In fact, it's Brilliant! lol I have both pressure switch on the Wilwood MC and a traditional brake light switch on the pedal. Redundant system that works. I am going to look at adding a switch that will open the circuit in high gear and...

    Enlarging PRP doesn't always help

The ssr is still a bit of a mystery to me, I get the basic idea what your supposed to do to it but still seems like a bit of a black art, the rest seems like there's straightforward strategies, throat and bowl to valve ratios, csa of the port opening, pinch, port volume to cfm etc.. That should...

NWS finally got their website functioning today. We got 81° for 10 minutes before it cooled to 79° Tim may have had some luck, none of the places I checked on the AZ interstates have reached 100° today.

    A few 2-Step questions

Most of the cars I seen using a 2 step when foot braking use a pressure switch in the brake system. Some had a toggle switch that had to be turned off after leaving, and some used a switch on the brake pedal or on the steering wheel to activate. Could also use a switch on the shifter that opens...

    A few 2-Step questions

I footbrake and don’t use anything. Don’t use line lock. I just put my foot on the brakes in second gear, whap the gas real quick to get the rpm’s up, get tire spin quickly, off the brake, and drive out. I have learned both the radial tire and the wallet both like a light burnout. I do use the...

    65 Barracuda daily driver

I was thinking about using something like that. The only issue is that there's a drop in the floor right where your hip is. I might make a plywood base so it's all level. (very old photo)

    Enlarging PRP doesn't always help

There have been discussions of SSR work in/on various magazine articles/forums thru the years. And I’ve seen where some are having luck with the approach to the turn having a more rounded shape(as opposed to flatter). I can’t think of a single time where I’ve lowered the center of the floor as...

    1973 Dart heater core question

For those that have replaced a heater core on a 73. The vendor offers 2 heater cores for AC cars. The cores have slightly different dimensions. One is specified as "Late". I assume that means a late build. Mine was built in 4/73. Mine is closer dimensionally to the non-late. I'm not 100 % sure...

Am I crazy or is this project Duster way overpriced?

I paid $800 for a complete and running 73 Duster with a slant 6. Granted it was a killer deal but there are so many out there for sale that are outrageously priced. If it isn't cherry, it shouldn't have a 5 digit selling price and is definitely over priced.

Stop in for a cup of coffee

Took everything out of my trunk on the Scamp making sure I didn't have a puddle of water in it after all the rain over the weekend. I never paid much attention to the spare tire as it's in good shape. Montgomery words tire. I think I better change it for a newer tire.
