[FOR SALE] 22" Electric Fan and Controller

This is a powerful little compact fan for tight spaces and 22" radiators. I had this on my Early A body. It's for a Chevy HHR application and measures 22.5" wide by 18" tall and is a little under 4" thick at the motor. I'm including the adjustable Derale 16759 Fan Controller with temp sensor...

Will my 360 cast crank, cast piston……

If the motor is not fully assembled, I'd go ahead and pull out the pistons and gap the rings. It would give you a chance to inspect your Craigslist special also and checkout out bearings, etc. before bolting it all back together.

This was earlier today. 3rd gear, rolling into boost on the street. The old converter was blowing right past this and hitting as high as 6300rpm. This one is holding steady. Can't wait for next track day. :) Also my new Ford Contour dual electric fan and PWM controller is working like a champ...

New converter installed. Got this from a buddy who had it as a spare. It’s a Circle-D supposedly and was built for an oddball — LS turbo mated to a 727 in a Dakota. It’s a little tighter than my PTC and has much better street manners and flashes to about 3200rpm. Now that I’m able to couple the...

Just make sure the fuel pump is turned off. Disconnect it, pull the fuse/relay or whatever it takes and then run your injector test. That’s how I did it with my Megasquirt. You should be able to hear the injectors click when they go high. If they don’t then you may have a short somewhere.

Does the Holley have a test mode to test injectors and coils? Something to allow you to cycle them individually high/low to confirm your wiring is good before you dig in too much further?

Yes the oil catch can coming off the pan seems to have done the trick. It’s also a great heat vent from the engine. There’s some serious hot air venting out of the engine through it.

The fluid looked great, smelled fine. It was practically brand new anyway. The pan had a little bit of junk in it but nothing crazy. It still shifts firm going through the gears but IDK. If I’m going to pull it to service the converter I think I might as well pull it apart and inspect everything...

I took the car to the track last week and have a new challenge. I made three runs total, all shitty. First two were 7.70s at about 95mph and slow short times. I pegged the shift light the entire run and the log showed I was hovering around 6300 rpm the whole pass. This was at about 12 lbs psi...

MegaSquirt (MS3) or Holley HP EFI

I run the MS3PRO Evo on my turbo’d 5.9 Magnum. I love all of the features that are included ootb and use many of them. I will say that when I go to the track most folks run the Holley and there are plenty of tuners that know it. That said, Megasquirt has a very active and helpful community.

The bung is at the top of the pan in the front, well above the oil level. This is a rear sump pan also so under WOT conditions the oil should be mostly in the back and in the sump, far away from this bung. I still need to test some more but so far it seems to be working. Fingers crossed.

It evacuates pressure to the catch can directly from the oil pan in this case. The filter at the top of the can allows the gases to escape while the catch can collects oil vapor.

RMS rear 4 link, not symmetrical?

What Denny says. This was a head scratcher for me also when I built my triangulated 4 link. My passenger side was lower but after I got the front squared with the t-bars it leveled out. But I have to say that yours looks a little extreme with the coilover jacked up that far and you’re still not...

I salivate over that Ritter block. Really nice piece but what’s wrong with it that it needs competition in what is probably a really tiny market place for high HP capable SBM blocks? The cost?

What are the symptoms of valve float? Does it happen under any amount of boost or only when you get up into the higher PSIs? Is this with the exhaust wide open? I noticed in my back pressure tests that my RPM was hitting a 5800-5900 ceiling when running through the muffler.

That program is a bit of a mess even if well intentioned. We had Citizens, the state subsidized plan and about the only one left. The “depopulation” plan blindly moved us to a new carrier without any prior notice at a 20% increase in premium, on top of the 33% increase we’ve been seeing just...

Surf Zillow and research pricing in different areas based on your housing criteria. I’m in S. Property taxes are high and climbing and it seems more and more...

speedmaster stuff pulled from Summit racing shelves

I’m intrigued to see how this plays out. The name suddenly appearing on this VB just doesn’t accidentally happen. Measuring boost back pressure

I’ve thought about going that route also but I’d have to rebuild my hot side to get a s475/s480 to fit. What I’m really itching to do is two smaller turbos tucked up inside the fender wells behind the headlights. :)

Thanks @TT5.9mag. As always I appreciate and value your feedback. The exhaust outlet on this eBay model is 3” so that’s where we’ll stay. I’m not quite ready to throw in the towel on this turbo but the back pressure numbers are informative. I know a 1:1 ratio is ideal and 2:1 is not uncommon at...
