Aluminum bellhousing originally in a 1969 Barracuda 340. Part number 2892482. Includes inspection cover. No fasteners included - just what you see in the photos. The inspection cover has a bent tab where the starter seal connects. You can see in the photos. Ball stud is not correct for an A...

With or with out a hood scoop?

For the record, I like your hood as-is. Definitely don't cut that one. I was very happy with my AAR hood, but that was 10 years ago. I have heard good things about Glasstek. Be aware that you'll have to pull the fenders and remove the hood springs from the hinges - even "weakened" springs will...

SBC SWAP IN A 64 BARRACUDA?

Will an 8-3/4 live? Maybe. I broke one at the drag strip behind a four speed with around 400HP. Depends on how you launch and if the center section is one of the good ones. A Dana or aftermarket 9" would take any abuse you can dish out.

does it matter wich side you install your torsion bars?

On the torsion bar, the hexes at each end are not in line. Thus each side is different. Lay the bar on a flat surface and you can see it.

Tire discounters can’t align my Dart.

When I got mine together, I took it to a local shop that often does race cars. They dialed in a lot of extra caster in my case. Look for a shop like that.

Today, dollar for dollar, is the 318 faster than the 340 ???

You build what you've got. Then come online and a bunch of keyboard warriors will tell you what you did wrong. Hell, you could say "apple pie is good" and someone will argue with you.

Bowing to peer pressure A body style

Last time I was at the track, I got some wheel hop and busted a tooth off my ring gear. Plus, when I took it apart, I found two teeth gone on the spider gears. For starters, check the torque on the pinion nut, but probably the center section needs to come out for diagnosis. I drove it home like...

What were you smoking listing this

I'm guessing he meant 179.00, and hit two zeroes for cents, but they were dollars. His other junk is reasonably priced. Comical though.

DoctorDiff not taking calls or emails?

I got him via e-mail multiple times with no issues. At the time, he had no 8-3/4 Power Lock diffs available because he had trouble getting spider gears from his vendor. Supply issues are a problem with just about everything these days. I ended up buying one of his Sure Trac II units. It's not...

    Classic over carburetion problem?

Don't start throwing parts at it yet. Like suggested, check cranking PSI. Might as well check all cylinders while you're at it. They should be very close. Timing is a big thing. I believe earlier in the thread you said you adjusted the timing to get rid of ping. If so, get a timing light on it...

1965 Valiant Convertible - What's it worth to you?

A Valiant, in ANY condition, has a limited market. A Valiant that is customized to your liking has an even smaller market.

After 4 years of secretly restoring my mother's car. I surprised her with it!

That was a great thing to do. Nice car too. Reminds me of my buddy's 64 when he first bought it.

Rear spring bar and front control arm madness

I'm guessing the guy who converted the front from drums to discs did that weld job instead of changing out the control arms. '73 and newer uses a larger ball joint.

[SOLD] RMD (Rocky Mountain Dashes) dash with glove box door and Autometer gauges

Posting this for a friend who is Internet challenged. The seller's name is Jerry and I'll send you his phone number if you PM me. He wants $750. This came out of a Barracuda because he prefers the factory gauge cluster. The Cool Whip container and any other junk in the picture is not included.

    Aftermarket sway bar

I'm running an Addco bar. The bar is great, but the mounting hardware is terrible. The k-member brackets wobble all over, which means the bar does nothing for you. I made my own brackets welded to the K member. Also made my own end links. Travel is nice and smooth.

    [SOLD] 15 x 9 Centerline Convo Pros - Pair

I have a pair of Convo Pro wheels for sale. They are 15 x 9 with 6.5" back spacing. 4.5" bolt pattern. I used these for a while on my Duster with a stock-width A-Body 8-3/4, relocated leaf springs, and widened wheel wells. I went to a narrowed rear end and these don't fit anymore. They're up on...

Racers, let's see where your tachs located

My tach is in the dash. I have an MSD shift light mounted on the A pillar. It's so bright you can't miss it. I never look at the tach, just shift when the light comes on.

    Custom Throttle Linkages

Not custom, but I used Lokar on my Duster. I don't know if I'll ever use anything else now. It attachs to the carb, so there's no brackets that use the intake bolts. Neat and simple. You can't see it that wel in the pic, but you get the idea.

    Duster question?

Rare, yes. Valuable, no. Don't think that you're going to make a fortune off the car, just enjoy it! By the way, it's a great looking car, especially the interior.

    Whats everyone running for gears?

Busted a toof off my 4.30's, so now I'm running 3.91's. Loved the 4.30's even on backroad highways. Trying to roll down the interstate was rough though. Of course, I had 28" tires on at the time, which helps. And no converter slip to deal with.

A bodies in Wisconsin, Who's out there?

I'll be there, and the Duster will probably be there too, but not racing. It temporarily has a 3.23 open center section, while I get a new housing, axles, and center put together. Duster should be up and running for Labor Day weekend, though. We'll be running my buddy's 64 Polara with the...

In need of an education..340 vs 360.

Now, you asked which is the better engine... In stock form it's the 340, hands down. You would have to be nuts to claim otherwise. The 340 has a forged crank, forged pistons, bigger intake valves (in the early ones), bigger cam, floating wrist pins, and higher compression. The stock 360 has none...
