The end for you. You should write a book or two.

    Eric's cam challenge

The 128 rule is a constant and for SBC only. All other engines the constant is different. He doesn’t have a constant for LS. What he used wasn’t right and he knew that. There’s nothing wrong with the math, it just hasn’t been corrected and proven yet. It’s going to take 100’s of cams and pulls...

I was referring to the lobe profile. Matter of fact, the guy that won used street lobe profiles as well. You’re 2 pages late to this party Hope your not telling me to piss off. That would be down right unfriendly.

    Eric's cam challenge

Just so you know cause I believe a bunch of y’all don’t follow DV and actually just don’t like him, he said he believed his grind would not come out on top. What he should have done other than sending in his street car grind, he should have sent in a second cam with a radical full blown dyno...

    Eric's cam challenge

I did not say it was not fair, I believe it was fair. Every entrant was told the parameters. The test had to be done in an economical way. Otherwise it would have been a month of dyno time and no sleep for Eric. I don’t believe it showed the true capabilities of each cam grind.

    Eric's cam challenge

Me neither, but I didn’t dig too deep into the test ( I find Eric hard to listen to) and it’s a LS which means less than nothing to me. I was only interested in how DV would do and I didn’t have high expectations cause of how the test was run and I knew he wasn’t grinding a full blown race cam...

    Eric's cam challenge

DV also said his lobe profile was street car designed lobe, other competitors could be super aggressive and not live long on the street, straining your valve train. Even through his peak hp numbers were lower than the best cam(-32hp), his average hp numbers were better (-14.6). I would like...

I believe the setup and tune did not suit his grind, other competitors may have.

road car cam for my 318

I’d pass on the quadrajet, the TQ is a much better carburetor. You’ll end up going down the rabbit hole and talking to a bunch of chivvie guys and what do they know? Nothing, otherwise they’d own mopars.

road car cam for my 318

Yep, thermoquad would be my choice for all street driven cars.

road car cam for my 318

No idea, I bought the truck from a guy that worked at a parts store called automotive and aircraft. The engine was rebuilt in house by the guys that ran the machine shop. After talking to them, they gave me some information on what parts they used, but not any spec’s. The story goes like this...

road car cam for my 318

I will say there is something to be said for an aftermarket power/mileage cam grind. I had one in a 250 straight six in a gmc pickup. It knocked down 17 mpg in a 4000 lb pickup empty or even loaded with a ton of scrap iron (I hauled 100 tons over 6 months) consistently and it had plenty of balls...

    Unbalanced brakes

Eherenburg has a bunch of brake stuff on eBay site ricksmopars to fix this problem. Everything from master cylinders to brake cylinders and propotioning valves as well. These are the parts he uses on his cars so you know they are not junk. He also wrote an article within the last couple of years...

Edelbrock perforner rpm vs air gap

Coating the inside and outside (after porting of course) with a thermal heat barrier coating will significantly reduce running temperatures.

Edelbrock perforner rpm vs air gap

You will choke the **** out of those heads with an unported intake of almost any intake. A well ported rpm is around 260 ish cfm. You want more? Single plane or tunnel ram if it suits the rest of your combination and car (plus intended purpose). A dual plane manifold needs a big carburetor as...

    Why Is It?

Cause that’s what mechanics do these days, replace parts. That’s where the money is, so why bother learning diagnostics, they have code readers for that. Reline a brake shoe? You can do that? Rewind an armature, how do you do that? File points? Clean spark plugs? Rebuild a carburetor? What’s a...

Inner fender removal for weight reduction?

You need aprons(inner fenders) or solid structural support(j bars?)to fire wall or better yet to a full cage. Since you compromised the structural integrity of the apron’s with holes for fenderwell headers, the only choice now is obvious. All you are doing to lose weight by compromising...

Pardon me, my bad, methanol is very hydroscopic.

    Late A Body fenderwell headers

I have 2 pair that are not perfect that I got for patterns and mock-ups. They are hard to find (small block) and they are pricey when you do as no one I know of makes them any more. Custom? At the price of tti headers, it can’t cost that much more for a custom set from someone that makes them.

    Possible Fuel Contamination

Are you sure it’s ethanol or is it methanol? Read the label. I believe methanol is not hydroscopic.
