    Pushrod- these are NO good

I just pulled them out and they are all straight and the cup ends are looking good until I checked the ball end and they all have same flat spot, these don’t look good. I’m making a cam change going a couple sizes bigger and I was hoping that I could use them, but after seeing this I have my...

    My cam numbers!

You must have a different Special Purpose Cams catalog than I do because mine does not have a 270AH-8, see the picture.

    My cam numbers!

I just went to Comp’s site and looked at the 270 specs and somehow I made a mistake in reading it or I looked at a different cam. I thought it was a 236/238 108 but I just confirmed that it is a 224/224 110. So I guess it could be a real 270AH. I guess if I were sell it at least I now can say...

    My cam numbers!

Yes I agree but the Comp 270AH-8 has 108 lobe sep angle and I may not be cam savvy but I think this sounds like 112. When I purchased this car and checked the timing it was at 24 initial. I have a video I posted on this site months ago and I will look for it.

Valve spring removal and PB Booster is in the way

Thanks for all the advice on removing the Booster if I need to. I already have the tool mentioned above and a friend is going to loan me a shaft mount tool and I will check to see if it works with the Booster without removing it.

    My cam numbers!

I don’t believe this cam is a 270 at this time, I believe it was reground to something else milder. I was told that there is a place in town that will take measurements of the cam and spec it out for me but I’m not sure if that’s what I want to do because I’m not going to install it back into my...

    My cam numbers!

Well I finally have time to dig into the 340 that came in the Dart I bought and I pulled out the cam to see what it could be. There are 2 sets of numbers on the end so I am guessing it could be a regrind. 270AH-8 7085 It definitely is NOT a Comp Cam 270AH, this cam sounded like a step above a...

Valve spring removal and PB Booster is in the way

Thanks I will try that. I am also asking some of my friends if anyone has shaft mounted spring compressor, and if using a shaft mounted tool would that work without removing the booster.

Valve spring removal and PB Booster is in the way

Do I just unbolt the 4 bolts or is there something else I need to do? Can I leave the master cylinder attached to it and just move them over slightly, or do I need to attach a rope or wire to support it? Sorry for all the questions, thanks

Valve spring removal and PB Booster is in the way

I am in the process of tearing down my 340 for a Cam and other parts change and I’m looking at the Power Brake Booster and it looks like I will not be able to get to the 3 valve springs closest to the firewall because the Booster is in the way! Is there any way to remove the valve springs with...

MSD distributor, can this be cleaned up

I talked with MSD technical support and all they can say is use wd40, steel wool and a brush to clean it up. Talking to them about this they made me feel like it is my fault, useless.

MSD distributor, can this be cleaned up

looks like just surface rust. Well it doesn’t look as bad as I thought it was going to look so I am going to remove it and clean it up, if it doesn’t clean up very good I’ll buy a new one.

MSD distributor, can this be cleaned up

Yes it looks like it got wet but not underwater. The car came from the coastal area of California. I had the distributor out and the rest of it looked like it was fairly new except for the area that you see in the picture. I am clueless what happened.

MSD distributor, can this be cleaned up

In the Swinger 340 I purchased a while back I noticed the condition of the MSD distributor was looking pretty bad but it was working good as is so I decided to wait a while before I get to decide what I need to do. Can this be cleaned or do I need to replace the whole unit? If it can be...
