Rear end advice for racing with a 4 speed

A lot depends on the type of clutch you are running, if you don't have an adjustable one than check out the clutch tamer @weedburner . I went with a dana 60 @Newbomb Turk s advice since he figured I would be stepping up the power levels later and it turned out to be sooner so he was right.

I haven't met him yet, I wonder if this guy is the wife's boyfriend he is always talking about, as long as the guy ain't messing with the dyno

    ~450hp from stock stroke 340?

To the op I would set the compression around 10.5 and put a solid flat tappet cam in (something close to these two) and run it. HUG STL4246AS-8 SB SLD FLAT TAPPET CAM 242/246 -108ºLSA HUG STL4650AS-8 SB SLD FLAT TAPPET CAM 246/250 -108ºLSA Even if it falls 15-20 short of your goal it...

    ~450hp from stock stroke 340?

Don't forget you have a ported tunnel ram, two 750s and a dyno to tune it. If you only make 450 then you quit the pull early lol.

Mcleod Super Street Pro 10.5" clutch feedback

I have one in my car and have been happy with it. I have been beating on it a fair amount over three years and it still looks good, not many miles on it though, still isn't completely broken in lol. I will be running it in a couple weeks with what should be close to 600hp and a clutch tamer so...

    73 Duster build named Fred

You should have seen the group of them heading into renegade on Friday night before the mopar drags. We were behind them at the gates and we all just started laughing our asses off at the customized plates and corvette hats. At the end of the day I am all for whatever someone wants to do and it...

Leave it to you to talk about corvette guys on a mopar forum. You sure seem to know a lot about chevy folks, jeesh, next thing we know you will be doing threads on porting LS heads

If I had your car I would throw some interior in it and drive the hell out of it. That's what my car is for, it has an 8 point cage, wipers and electric bmw sport seats! lol.

    New Camshaft question

Comp hydraulic flat tappet thumpr cam and lunati microtrol lifters in a chevy small block, Comp claimed the cam was good after sending it back for inspection but replaced it anyway. @Newbomb Turk had checked the lifters before installing them and they were good. The second go around with...

I will be there tomorrow night through Saturday with a couple friends. Looking forward to seeing the engine out of my dart make some passes in my buddies race car. It was never going to make passes in mine since I am building a new engine so it will be cool to see it run. See you there Bill, and...

    408 ignition curver advice

Nice ride!. The cam is not the problem since my buddy has a 246/250 on a 108 ls flat tappet cam, ported victor, 10.1 compression in a 408 and it doesn't suffer from lack of low end in a heavy short bed dodge. His engine made 500hp/500tq and he has 4.56s with 30" tires, I think the 3.91s would be...

I will be joining you there since my engine won't be out of the machine shop for another month and the engine that was in the car is now in a buddy's race car. My goal is woodburn in August, it might even be my first outing with the car but there are three days of racing starting Friday...

I get that, I know my car won't be running to it's full potential for a while. I will be happy just to run it this year without all the extra bs of going 9s yet, shoot I already have to replace my dam belts and never got a pass out them lol. My car is 3350 race weight and the engine should make...

Yeah thank uncle Tony the dipshit for going public with the Vermont tile thing and making it go viral. Sad to say but once the masses know about something good they seem to exploit and ruin it every time. If the wsp give you a hard time have a buddy from another state register it and "sell" it...

Some dyno testing you guys may want to follow on YouTube

Thank you and I really appreciate the offer but I think we are good with the heads we have for this test. What we really need is a trickflow intake, I ordered one quite a while ago and the date keeps getting pushed further out, I think it is estimated to be in July now!.

Some dyno testing you guys may want to follow on YouTube

The first round of testing will be with ootb heads and intakes, the heads are speedmasters, edelbrock rpms and trickflows, there might be one more set of heads in the test as well. After the initial test the rpm heads will get a basic port job by @Newbomb Turk (since that was why they were there...

Some dyno testing you guys may want to follow on YouTube

This is very close to what I am doing, 410 with 11.1 compression and an older hughes/engle sft with 257/266 @.050, .587/.602 lift on a 107 ls. So far for intakes we have an rpm, victor, m1, also 1 7/8 headers and an 830cfm blp carb.

Some dyno testing you guys may want to follow on YouTube

Well I am very fortunate as we own the dyno so that part of it is covered (although still not free by any means lol). We will be testing several intakes as well but unfortunately as of this point the trickflow is still backordered and showing available in June?, so that may not be in the line up.

Some dyno testing you guys may want to follow on YouTube

I am building a stroker short block right now with the sole purpose of testing some speedmasters, edelbrock rpms and trickflow ootb heads on the dyno. While I agree it would be really interesting to see what some heads done by pbr would do the problem is they are not a widely available part to...
