    360 vs 383

I would presume this comparison between a 360 and 383 would have similar compression ratios, cam, etc. to base a decent comparison.

    360 vs 383

I had a 71 340 Cuda and my best friend had a 383 Super Bee, similar hop ups. We raced many times and although my car with a four speed and better handling was funner to drive. His Bee would consistently be a car length or two faster than mine. I would say they were close enough in power that I...

69 Notchback Mod Top $5000 Illinois. Marketplace NOT MINE

In E-bodies it is easy. A BH is a base Barracuda. In 69, a A56 (Cuda) or A53 (Formula S) would be an upgrade in trim, engine, and suspension by definition of the upgrade package over the base model. A non A56 or A53 would be a base car which could be ordered with some of the options of the A56...

69 Notchback Mod Top $5000 Illinois. Marketplace NOT MINE

Nothing, because a standard Barracuda optioned with a 340 is still a base Barracuda. Just like a 70 challenger ordered with all the RT options and a 340 is still a base Challenger.

69 Notchback Mod Top $5000 Illinois. Marketplace NOT MINE

When I owned my 383-s, I called it a 383-S because that was much easier to say than it is 69 Formula-S with a 383. Calling it a 383-s was purely a matter of convenience.

Fender tag and window sticker. No torque boxes. I even spoke with the original owner and he provided me a video when the car was new.

69 Notchback Mod Top $5000 Illinois. Marketplace NOT MINE

LOL, it came with a 383. Badging on the fender says 383-S, which means it is a Formula S with a 383 engine. One of the oddities of my 69 was that it did not come with torque boxes, front or rear.

69 Notchback Mod Top $5000 Illinois. Marketplace NOT MINE

My current project is a 71 Barracuda, a BHG car. Although I am decking it out with Cuda trim, it will always be a base Barracuda. I sometimes hear it crying in the shop...I wish I was born a Cuda, is what it whimpers!

69 Notchback Mod Top $5000 Illinois. Marketplace NOT MINE

I would say the proof would have to be very convincing to say a non A53 fender tagged car is a Formula-S. Mamopar has made mistakes and theoretically could miss the A53 on the fender tag. The dealer could have installed the Formula-S stuff to make a "clone" from day one, I guess.

69 Notchback Mod Top $5000 Illinois. Marketplace NOT MINE

Here is a window sticker for a 69 383-s I owned for 25 years. This car is a fastback barracuda with the Formula-S package. The 383 was chosen as one of the sizes of engines being available, the other being a 340. I have never heard the argument that my car is a 383-s, not a Formula-S. The rear...

In a garage, discovered after 40 yrs--ugliest Cuda ever built.

I have seen a lot of e-body Cudas customized and I can honestly say that none of them look better than a stock Cuda.

    WOULD IT BE A SIN

Really nice, however, it is a personal thing that I really don't like billboards that much. Although I think satin black billboards on a TX9 Cuda looks pretty good.

    WOULD IT BE A SIN

I do like the round marker lights on the 8, but I wouldn't go to the trouble of putting them on a 7.

    WOULD IT BE A SIN

So is it a sin to put 70 Cuda hockey stripes on a 71 Barracuda instead of the big *** billboards?

Axle stuck in warped 8.75 housing...please give advice..ty

Are you trying to save the axle or do you just want the center chunk. You could cut the tub to remove the axle, the axle might be good.

What is the most POWERFUL engine you have ever been behind?

150 MW nuclear reactor powering CGN-36 USS California, although it would only do around 35 knots.
