Hi guys. Looking for my late brother's 1969 Swinger 340 Dart. The VIN is listed in the thread title. Last I was aware, it was registered in Connecticut in 2002, but I lost track of it since. Car was in either Southbury CT or Southington CT. Originally painted red, black interior, black vinyl top...

    440 Fender Well headers ?

Scroll down about half way on this page, and you can see where I cut the headers to make more room for the front tires. Further in the thread there may be pictures of the headers from the top so you can see the clearance from the tube to the MC. 69 Dart 440 Convertible

    Hi guys..........I'm back!

Not a new guy, but I've been gone for a while. Sold my red 69 Dart, and bought a 70 Corvette. Sold that and am building a 68 Camaro. My son, however, was itching for a hotrod for himself, so last night I bought him a 73 Duster. 426 Wedge motor, 727 automatic, 8-3/4 Sure Grip rear with 391...

No, no A/C. This is my 3rd shark Vette and non of them had air. It's not bad in the shark cars if all the floor and tunnel insulation is in place. If not you'll melt in the damned car! LOL Thanks for the well wishes. Yep, still got the ol Power Ram. Has 217,000 miles on it now. I'll have...

    69 Dart 440 Convertible

If the heater box ( and driver's side air box) are removed, you can reach your arm up there to install them. If those aren't removed I can't see how they would be installed. George

Already bought it, Kim. 1970 Corvette 300horse 4 speed coupe, PS, rear defog, factory alarm, shoulder belts, stereo. Has 62900 miles on it, Mulsanne blue with black guts. Dart must go ASAP. Now you made me tell a Mopar board that I bought a Chevy! :D George

To The Top. I can't post new pictures, but the car is for sale. If you look at post numbers 137 & 138 that is exactly what the car looks like today except I installed new front & rear chrome bumpers. Will take $17,000 for it but make me an offer. I kinda want to get it gone. PM me. Car is in...

Time crunch & no spark :(

Sounds like no power to the ign box while in START position. Check that first. Needs to be power in both START & RUN key positions.

    69 dart swinger

Welcome. Remove the lower nut under the K frame, then unbolt the whole assembly from the ears on the block. R&R the rubber mount on the work bench, then reinstall. Support the engine from underneath of course. Good Luck!

See post #2. Glad ya found the problem. George

creaking and other stuff going on....

From that explanation, it sounds like a bad or worn out control arm bushing. That could also change the camber which would explain the tire wear pattern.

    square back alternator

Just install a short piece of wire with a female terminal on it. One end on the field spade, the other end to ground.

Interesting. The guy ran his dodge on gas fumes..

If that could be done with any kind of power and reliability, the automakers would already have produced cars that run that way. It's a farce. Might get an engine to idle for a few seconds that way, but not enough to drive it like that. Besides, the air/fuel ratio would be so far off the...
