Cost for labor on stroker build?

He ran stock 400 block. I don't remember the exact details but he said something about the block having a higher nickel content I believe it was. I do know that it was a truck block that he had machined for 4 bolt splayed main caps, align bored, bored / honed 0.030" with torque plates, had...

    The Verdit Is In!!!!!!!!

Wow, that car is a dead ringer for the 65 Dart 270 4 dr that my parents bought new! I was 9 at the time... It was their first a body Dodge - the first of 3 and Dad sure was pissed when they stopped making them at the end of the 76 model year. The second one is the Dart in my avatar.

2nd pass. Turned up the boost to 10psi and disabled the 2-step. Would have been faster but I let off short of the stripe cause my shift light came on and I panicked and let off the gas like an idiot.

Cost for labor on stroker build?

He ran speedmaster cylinder heads and he did all of his own port work. Remember, this is a sbc and they cost about half of what a sbm would cost. I wish that I could remember the name of the parts that he used. He got a forged crankshaft for $400. Like I mentioned earlier he bought everything...

    7875 + 5.9 + E85 + Megasquirt

This was my first pass. The 2-step was acting stupid and didn’t even turn off until I was well out of the hole killing my 60’ but MPH was strong. This new converter is tight and didn’t allow me to build boost on the line so need to adjust the 2-step to match the converter. This was 9 PSI.

Cost for labor on stroker build?

or if you're like me, the first 2K goes into buying a block, and then a crank and rods, then realizing that one or all of that is crap so then you buy better stuff, and you're half way to 6700 before you hit the machine shop and the heads you bought off johnny race gas needs exhaust seats and...

Got it to the track tonight and made three runs, last one is a new personal best. 6.82 @ 106.5MPH at 13psi and no two step, just foot brake and no boost at launch.

69, no point in posting VIN as , I'm not doing a full build again and I would not trust any "used" engine. Not sure someone would want to spend what it would take to get it, never know. LM23P9B17**** (Swinger 340) Alan

    One of the first 340?

If it is an early 340 block AND it was a 4 speed car, it may have a rare wilder cam than the 68 4 speed cam.

i'm calling shenanigans on that 650hp 406 for 6.7. you'd need nearly half that in heads alone to put down that kinda juice. yeah, maybe he got some deals but two things: one, how long are those questionable parts gonna hang out-- especially if he cheaped out somewhere on something; and B- the...

Cost for labor on stroker build?

Going by that, it would cost like $6500 for a 360 horsepower 360. It's been said on here that you can get 400 horsepower from a 5.9 with bolt ons.

2000 per 100 horsepower. 10,000 for a reliable 500 hp engine from carb to pan.

Timing sprocket gear loose against cam key.

Well of course it's gone. You tightened the bolt down. You better believe it though when it's running, that cam sprocket will probably rock back and forth. That crap wouldn't be in any engine I built. Rock on, brother!
