A body big block back to small block

I wondered about the /6 to SB mounts too, but looking at the pictures it appears the /6 to SB conversion mount does not end up in the same place as the SB to BB mount does. I think the only solutions are to swap out the k-frame or fix the existing mount. Worst case, he could trade for or buy a...

Description says it is for original BB k-frames. So that won't work.

[WANTED] 360 magnum, need intermediate shaft

Definitely the same for 5.2 and 5.9. Only question in my mind is if an LA is the same or if the roller cam in the Magnum forces a different gear.

[WANTED] 360 magnum, need intermediate shaft

I thought they were the same. Roller cams are made from a different material than flat tappet cams and usually and wear the intermediate gear out fast, but I thought when I did my roller lifter swap I looked into it and the factory Magnum cams didn't take a special intermediate shaft. But I...

Holley Gen 3 Hemi Swap Sale

My guess would be that the 6.1 and 6.4 in SRM (short runner mode) is very close to the same. The 6.4 in LRM (long runner mode) probably makes a fair amount more torque than the 6.1 down low. The car 5.7 intake without the SRV probably makes close to the same low end torque as the 6.4 in LRM...

    Magnum and Wiring Swap

When I did my 5.9 SMPI swap on my Dakota, I was concerned that I would have to retrofit a '94/'95 Dakota IP into my '91. The '91 uses a cable driven speedo while the later IP uses a stepper motor speedo (or something similar). The big issue was that the '94 van I got my PCM out of for my swap...

Holley Gen 3 Hemi Swap Sale

Depending on my goal, I could come down on either side of the fence. For an all out build, I wouldn't be ok with moving the motor forward and I would want long tubes as well. And I probably wouldn't care about AC either. Maybe if I was looking to compete in the OPTIMA stuff. But this build...

My Hooker headers were $450 2 years ago, just before they bumped them to about $600. Nice thing about the Hooker headers is they are 304 stainless while the $720 TTI's are raw mild steel (and $803 now). So if anything the price should be compared to the $984 ceramic 61HC, not the uncoated...

    18" Wheel help

Yes, the 489 pumpkin will interchange fine. The nice thing about the wider B-Body axle is you might be able to use the same wheel on the rear as the front if they are both higher offset. That's how I can run a square 17x8 +30 setup.

    Tr6060 behind a small block?

I forgot about this option: https://www.holley.com/products/drivetrain/bellhousings/mopar/parts/LK7400K They don't talk about what flywheel and such, so many unknowns. But if you could find a flywheel that works with a SB, you could do a DS starter with this bell and maybe it would be a...

Will the 1 7/8" and 2" TTI headers fit eagle 5.7 heads?

Weird that they would leave out the Eagle 5.7 motor. I know the 6.4/6.1 exhaust manifold bolts to them just fine. That said, I didn't think any of them had a large round port like that. I thought they were a D shape.

Hemi Swapping a perfectly good 70 Duster

Even with my A833OD, a 2.76 is still 2000@75. Not that 2K is a bad RPM to cruise at, there's were I run right now with 3.21's and 65 mph. I could drop even further to a 2.45 and hit 1750@75, but I'm not sure the clutch would last with a starting ratio of 7.57:1. At the same time, a wide ratio...

Power Tour has been a bucket list item for me as well, but even this year's new West event was a long ways from my home. Part of why I want an OD in my car is the idea that maybe I can take the 3 weeks off it would take me to get there, do the tour and drive back. Really want a car that can...

I think any Dakota/Durango should work. Maybe even a van or truck, but not sure. If you wanted to add the VTSS functionality, I think it has to be a highline or premium unit and should have had the VTSS enabled before hand. No idea on getting the fob programmed to it if you don't get one with...

    Magnum and Wiring Swap

I think in order for it to work, it needs to see valid communication and then lose that communication. That's why power has to be on before shorting the network. If it is open, it just waits to see if the network is fixed and whatever it does to disable the no-start logic never happens. Which...

I would go back to that ground screw and make sure it is making a good connection. Sounds like maybe it isn't getting a good ground so it has to back feed. But there are people way much smarter than I on this. Maybe @slantsixdan?

    Magnum and Wiring Swap

Shorting the network won't hurt the PCM. The network is a loop that goes high and low to created messages and shorting it just means communication on the network can't happen. It's not going to short the PCM and damage anything, it just means the PCM will see a communication issue and log the...

    Magnum and Wiring Swap

My understand is that the PCM P/N will not tell you anything. The PCM's all come capable of a no-start security setup, but it isn't until they see a VTSS (or whatever) signal that it is activated. The above is from a 2000 Dakota FSM. In this case, the VTSS setup is enabled in the CTM.

    Magnum and Wiring Swap

I ran across a tip years ago and saved it. The gist of the tip is that if you turn on the vehicle and then short the CCD or PCI bus wires and then turn it off while it is still shorted, the PCM will stop looking for the VTSS message and start. Assuming the vehicle doesn't have VTSS which would...

    A-Body Round #2- My '76 Scamp restore...

Best guess, the ground wasn’t really grounded because the plastic relay was insulating it on that side. So the power was back feeding through the other circuits. I had something similar happen when I added relays.
