    “Budget” Suspension Build Input

I’m with you—I halfway figured I could swap to nicer shocks in a couple years, just knowing that was the item I skimped on.

    “Budget” Suspension Build Input

Car runs and drives, but suspension and front brakes are really tired. It definitely needs to get done. Purpose of the car use is street and backroads driving. I would like to do it right, and not have to tear the car apart in 6 months. @migsBIG thread about affordable shocks made me think it’d...

Shocks: looking for Blistein quality at KYB price.

Here ya go: Bilstein High Performance Shock Set - Front & Rear They offer 10% off for forum members. I’ve never claimed it, but I’m pretty sure you need to mention it in the comments upon checkout.

Shocks: looking for Blistein quality at KYB price.

I’m selfishly hoping for some options… Everything I’ve read is that we either have the basic Monroe/Gabriel/Sachs, or the expensive Bilstein or Hotchkis options. I would love a middle ground, non-KYB option.

How many of you grease your own trailer axles?

I’m probably overly cautious now. I picked up a camper trailer that had been sitting at a family member’s house for a year or so. 45 minutes into the 9 hour trip I noticed the smoke billowing from the wheels. I let things cool down, removed the problem-wheel and drove it right back. Glad I...

My 273 turned out to be a 318...what did I buy?

Curious if you have any pictures from below. My stock 273 manifolds are RIGHT on the proportioning valve. Haven’t had any issues in the short time I’ve had it on the road, but I do know I need to address it.

    4 Speed Reinstall From Underneath

I have no clue how you did that. I don’t think I’d attempt that. I built a little transmission adapter for my jack. Worked pretty well, actually.

    4 Speed Reinstall From Underneath

Thanks. I did do that—I just checked to see how much lean I could get, distributor isn’t that close to hitting the firewall. Probably need to loosen more.

    4 Speed Reinstall From Underneath

Hello all, Swapping a833s in a 1965 dart. I removed the transmission yesterday, and had some struggles getting the upper left (drivers side) transmission to bellhousing bolt out. There is some floorpan sticking out into the 4 speed hump that I’ll either move or cut. Just curious if any of...

Gas pedal and floor bracket info

Haven’t we all? I have new floorpans waiting to go in. I’ll probably make the new bracket when I install those pans in the next 1-5 years.

Just want to sort of close this loop—1/4” clevis pin fits great. I may fabricate a new floor mount, but that’s for another day.

15 inch wheels on early A body pictures

215 60 15 all around… I have the 73+ disc brake swap in the front and 8 1/4 in the back. I don’t love where the front wheels sit in the wheel well, but they were free. No complaints from me.

    1965 Dodge Dart Charger (?)

Transmission has been rebuilt for a while now. Just psyching myself up to do the swap. Decided to build a little transmission jack adapter thing for my jack. Maybe a distraction? Either way. Should help the process.

    1965 Dodge Dart Charger (?)

Mine has never functioned. It’s chewed through at least two speedometer cables. I just use a GPS speedometer. I’ll fix it some day. With the later a833 I used to have in there, the cables were cheaper. I don’t want to risk chewing up a $150 speedometer cable until I actually figure out what’s...

    1965 Dodge Dart Charger (?)

Quick update. Working on rebuilding a spare transmission to replace the one currently in the car. Having fun. Taking it slow. Will probably have the spare transmission back together this week. I’m thinking I’ll wait to put the new one in for when I do some front end work. May be a while, but...
