New Here, Researching A Body Convertible 392 Swaps

Welcome to the madness! You don't have to use the 73 up K member. Conversion mounts are available for the 67-72 K. However, the brakes and big ball joints are an advantage on the 73 up cars. Holley has mounts that move the engine ahead in order for the SRV motor on the back of the intake...

    M Code 440

Appreciate the replies. I finally found a pic of a restored M code engine and i can see the lower valve cover corners using the stud/nut combo. I know that the big blocks in general used the same hardware. I was wondering about the markings in particular. This vehicle isn't going to be an OEM...

    M Code 440

I did a quick search and didn't find my answers. First off, what would be the intake manifold bolts? Just like a typical 440 of same vintage, but, did they all have the "TR" marking? Second, the valve cover bolts. I know in some years they used a short stud with a nut in the lower corners...

    John Force Update

Traumatic Brain Injury is no joke. Have had experience with this situation where a family member was killed and the spouse suffered TBI. They were on a golf cart, not an 11,000 hp funny car........

    6.1 Hemi Internals.

I have no experience with the coils you mention. I have seen dyno numbers comparing stock to MSD. IIRC, it was literally a horse apiece. The number going to MSD. The stock coils are really pretty decent.

    6.1 Hemi Internals.

Correct. The Hemi 6 only works with the 32 tooth wheel found in the 03-08 5.7 and all 6.1.

    6.1 Hemi Internals.

I did a 5.7 awhile back. Put ARP bolts in the bottom end. Did not change crank or rod run out. But, as Garret pointed out, if you plan to power add or boost, put a drop in/no balance required piston/rod set now while it's apart. On the head bolts, they are indeed torque to angle. But my...

I believe the 545 uses an input and an output sensor for vehicle speed.

Gen 3 block weights for those interested

I caught that. I would expect the Dart to be heavier. Stronger/thicker in places that need it. Going back to the LA small block realm, the R blocks and Ritter blocks are heavier than a standard block. For very good reason. I looked at that block at PRI two years ago. Impressive, impressive price...

    Floods locally

Full 10 hours today. Had my son and wife, one good friend, and four volunteers. The basement is empty and free of "river mud". Now to mop and bleach. I think the furnace will survive. Pulled out the squirrel cage and cleaned it all real good. Letting it dry and lube tomorrow. It's OG 1979 to the...

    Floods locally

I'm with ya Big D. Thought we we're making headway this a.m. Seems as though it's still coming in. Down to about four inches and maintaining. Want to get started on cleanup. Just sitting here kinda helpless. Tried getting started, but, still just too much water. Troding around in it just seems...

This is the road directly in front of our house and shop. The little Vega is my neighbor's at his shop. First pic taken about six this morning. If you look, you can see the water line behind it. This is later this afternoon. It's fubar.

    Floods locally

It is a mess here in Rock Rapids. Was expecting a crest of twenty five feet. Which was same as flood of '93. 2014 it crested at twenty seven. So, we took what we thought were appropriate measures. This time was another perfect storm, pun intended. It crested at just over twenty eight feet, a new...

    Ported Eagle head flow numbers?

You're best off taking them to someone with a flow bench and pay them for their services. This guy's Stage 1 compared to that guy's Stage 1 compared to snaggle toothed Bubba's Stage 1 will ALL BE DIFFERENT. Different enough to make real difference in power. Or...... Just bolt the stuff on and...

Will the 1 7/8" and 2" TTI headers fit eagle 5.7 heads?

Run them. I have a 6.1 based 426 with heavily ported early heads that have the square ports. It dynoed just fine with the TTI 2 inch long tubes. Think how far down and how much work it would be to shrink that 2 inch tube to match the port.
