    Slant 6 stroker?

May be right about not being a "P" part but I think it was listed in the Direct Connection monthly magazine. They said a fully ported head and Fuel Injection was in the works too. Some things are pipe dreams and never came to fruition.

    Slant 6 stroker?

Around the late 1980's Direct Connection had a stroker crank kit for the \6. The kit made a 242 CI. I was doing 2.2 stuff so I was not interested.

Slant 6 timing help- Torqstorm and Sniper EFI

Could put a hose extension on it and build a metal box to house it with some dampening. I'd move that Cone Air filter to the front of the radiator so you have a bit colder air intake. The supercharger will add more than enough heat to the charge. Looks COOL as hell but not functional.

Slant 6 timing help- Torqstorm and Sniper EFI

A BIG coalescing oil to air separator is a must if you are feeding the PVC back into the air intake side of a turbo/supercharger. Even more so with an Intercooler. You do not want oil mist inside the vanes or cooler. On my Subaru Turbo's, I run 1 on each side 10AN line from the valve covers up...

Slant 6 timing help- Torqstorm and Sniper EFI

Blow-By is always an issue on pressure fed engines. Ring control goes all wonky with pressure and HEAT. Someone asked early in this post if you had opened up the top piston ring end gap.

Slant 6 timing help- Torqstorm and Sniper EFI

With most turbos you can plumb the blow-off valve back into the air box, or as Subaru does it, just before the turbo but after the MAF.

    Steve Magnante’s Old Valiant

EBooger's Green Brick tech pages had a lot of good info back then. Crossmember mods, torsion bar info, powersteering mods....... But I do not remember if Steve was involved at all. I'm thinking not.

On the supercharger kit do they offer different crank pulleys? Mix and match pulley sizes can be fun (NOT) but you can dial in the shaft speed and PSI. Sometimes a 1/2 inch change on just the top pulley can be too much. And you want as large of pulleys, matched of course, so the belt has better...

Did the 1979 Lil Red Express come with an air pump?

You do not need to hear it, you will FEEL it.

Did the 1979 Lil Red Express come with an air pump?

And there is NOTHING like a LRT in a long tunnel and punch the go fast peddle half way through.

Did the 1979 Lil Red Express come with an air pump?

What makes a Classic car "CLASSIC"? In 1965 Plymouth made 22,000 Barracudas, many with slant sixes. In 1968 Chevy made 208,000 327 powered Cameros, many 6's too. In 1978 only 2,500 LRT's In 1979 only 3,500 LRT's. So 6,000 for both years ?????????? .

Did the 1979 Lil Red Express come with an air pump?

Rumors were rampant but 90% were wrong. With only 2500 1978 LRT's made for the whole world if you have one keep it. With around 3500 1979 LRT's made it is almost guaranteed a 1978 is more desirable. Now a short story. In 1990 when I was stationed at Ft Lewis WA my Company Commander had a 1979...

Did the 1979 Lil Red Express come with an air pump?

This will not help the question on 1979 LRT air pump. But my story on what cam is in mine. I have the EH1 from my 1978 LRT on a stand buried in the garage. The engine was pulled and regasketed around 1989 due to leaking coolant at right headgasket. Has steel dual chain cam sprockets, Windage...

    Long drive for nothing

5 years ago I seen a 2010 Kawasaki Concours 1400 for sell in Kellogg Idaho. Seller said he'd hold it if I gave a $250 deposit. I had a local LEO friend check out the seller and all seamed OK so I paid (PayPal).... Day of the 5 hour drive seller said the bike was just serviced and was ready to...

    Long drive for nothing

Not a clue which Tractor Fluid we were using. It was from NAPA stores in 1994 when I was going to collage for my AS's in Automotive and Welding. Can you remember what oil you used 29+ years ago for cutting and grinding if it was not your equipment? I know it was clear. colorless and did not...

    Bending a sway bar

I once used some 3/8 inch angle iron to make a 90 degree angle change and then used some sway bar links from a Toyoda. Or something like these: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/spx-smx-122575

I think i broke rear main bearing

I have always bored my SB rear main hole out to 1/2 inch and then taper it some and do the same to the NEW oil pump. I do use the paper gasket but spray CooperKote sealant on both sides. I then use a flat plate with emory cloth and WD40 to lightly dress the oil pump and caps mating surface. I...

speedmaster stuff pulled from Summit racing shelves

Back in 1992 when I was stationed in Korea you could buy anything and 99.99% were cloned parts. A friend went downtown and bought a Yamaha 5 channel AMP for like $115. I had the same model I had bought in USA for $450. They both sounded the same in the low freq's but his tweeter freq's were...

I think i broke rear main bearing

Since that is just the bolt that holds the oil pump on the main cap I'd maybe CLEAN the crack real well, JB Weld the crack, then drill it oversize and a bit deeper and tap for a ThreadCert. There is not a lot of side loading on those bolts so I'd lock a stud into the ThreadCert.

how strong is the 8 3/4 #741 case?

The 741 has about the same size necked down where the bearing is as the 742 or 489. I pulled a 741 case out of a 1967 US Forestry long bed pickup with a \6 and granny 4 speed that had 5.13:1 open. Had 17 inch split rims. We put a SureGrip on it and it was running strong 25 years ago when I...

    VIN Rivets

And all the GM cars used the 5 point MOPAR rivets too. NOPE they are also 6 point, so are AMC. I think my 1989 BMW 635 CSI M6 was also a 6 point rivet..... Was not a Manufacture mandated rivet. It was a FEDERAL mandated rivet.

Have you ever seen any Dart, Valiant, Demon or Duster with a rear window defroster?

My 1965 Barracuda has a blower motor in the back to blow air on that HUGE glass. No heat, just air. The under dash switch was missing when I rebought the car in 1986 but read "Rear Blower" if I remember. My mom had the dealer install a heater core from a mail order place like JC Whitney and...

    Aluminum slant block

Being an open deck, the top of the cylinders would walk around so the head gaskets were very special. One of the plans were to wind 1/4 inch copper tubing around each cylinder and fill the water jackets with high temp epoxy or block cement, then milled flat. The copper would be into the water...

    Aluminum slant block

Back in 1999 or so, I sold a 1962 225 aluminum engine to a guy from California for $500. He took it down to Doug Dutra's shop. It came out of a 62 Valiant with a 7 1/4 Suregrip 3.51:1 and a 3 on the tree.
